We’ve visited Banyoles many times but never stayed. La Carpa apartments were lovely and you can be self sufficient as apartment we stayed in had a kitchen but there are also 2 restaurants below the apartments and many more around the town.

A lovely self-built wooden building, with some excellent self-built furniture. A shower so good I had to turn down the pressure; really comfortable large double bed. Lovely views outside the windows of the spacious and comfortable guests' common room. Great location for visiting Besalu, which is lovely, and the Garrotxa, an area of beautiful woods and dormant volcanic peaks. The restaurant literally over the road provided excellent food in a very friendly environment. Finally our hostess was very friendly and helpful without being intrusive. Photos: The Bridge and Town at Besalu, The lake at Banyoles with early snow on the mountains, the 'common room' at La Fustana, and the morning view from there.

This newly opened hotel is a true gem in the mountains — full of great energy and just a day trip from Barcelona. You can feel the love in every detail of the renovation, from the cozy, stylish spaces to the peaceful vibe throughout. The staff are super welcoming, the breakfast is thoughtfully prepared, and the pool even invited me in for a magical midnight swim! There’s also a piano, and plenty of beautiful spots to chill or get some work done, both indoors and out. Perfect for a getaway with friends or family — I can't recommend it enough!
