Very comfortable room - tastefully decorated, comfortable bed, good shower. A kettle provided so you can make your own tea. Possibility to have a substantial breakfast served in the room or outside in good weather (10 €/person). Close to the pretty town of Aubigny-sur-Nère where you can a number of restaurants. Shared microwave, plancha, fridge and cutlery provided if you don't want to go out.

Location: across a very good Chinese restaurant and 3 minutes walking from other restaurants and the center of town. Host: we made a reservation on a Sunday afternoon for an arrival later that day. The host took care of everything although he lives 20 km away. The place is nicely renovated, light and clean with lots of appliances. It was at time of booking the lowest price in town but the best place we stayed during our 14 day bike trip.

Aubigny-sur-Nere is a very attractive and historic town and La Chaumiere is in the middle of it. We loved the building which is old and beautiful and has been wonderfully restored with every comfort. We booked an evening meal for convenience which turned out to be exceptionally good - really fine dining - but for a fraction of the price you pay in the UK for this quality of food and wine. The service was also great - both friendly and efficient.

Lovely atmosphere in this quiet house set in trees and fields. The woman who owns the place is also extremely friendly and welcoming (quickly and pleasantly helping me sort out my booking once we realised I'd initially booked the wrong dates...). Her little dog is also very cute and adds to the atmosphere.

Where do I possibly begin with talking about this stay - other than saying it was one of the most perfect places we have stayed!! The location is perfect, far enough from any sort of hustle and bustle, but close enough to places to visit, shops, and of course - boulangaries! It was so peaceful and quiet, what more could you want? The property itself was amazing!! When we book other properties, we tend to have the same comments “it was nice but could have done with …..”. This time, there were no such comments. The space was perfect! Although it’s small, it’s big enough for people to have their own space. The beds were comfy, the sofas were comfy, the air conditioning worked, the shower was great, and even the tv was a great size. When we travel, having the ‘home comforts’ really makes a difference, and this place had them all! Which leads to the garden! And wow. Just wow! A key factor for us is a fenced in garden to keep our two dogs safe and secure, and not for one moment did we worry about them! They had ample space to wander and explore, all whilst we just relaxed. The location of the garden is comparison to the sun is perfect. If you want to sit in the shade all day, there is space. And if you want to be in the sun all day, you can too! It’s perfect! And this is before we even talk about the pool!!! For someone who doesn’t like pools too much, I spent an inordinate amount of time floating around and relaxing! 😊 And lastly, I need to mention the host who was just the nicest man ever! He was incredibly attentive and kind. He even remembered it was our honeymoon and congratulated us! He was on hand if needed, and responded to everything. You can tell he is proud of his property and it shows! He helped make our stay even better!! We have already booked again (and did so before we even got home!). Just a perfect, perfect, PERFECT property!!
