Very nice, clean B&B right next to the bridge. Great large room, aktuelle BNB I Head on the Trip that didn’t half rather crammed Room. And there was even breakfast in the fridge for self service though announced as room only. Where have you ever seen something like that?

We stayed one night we had an evening meal that was excellent. The breakfast was also amazing.. The room was comfortable and cozy. We had a great sleep on a very comfortable bed. It's a grand old hotel like going back in time. We will be back.

The hosts at The Old School House were amazing and went out of their way to make the stay as enjoyable as possible. I arrived after a long day hiking Hadrian's Wall and they had a slice of cake waiting for me. They were also the only place I stayed in to offer a lift back to the hiking trail. A good tasty and filling breakfast in the morning too. Friendly and warm atmosphere from the first moment until the last!

I absolutely LOVED this place! Host was extremely kind and helpful, rooms were new and super clean, breakfast was delicious and there is and old mill next door with fantastic heritage. I would gladly come back here anytime!

Lana gave us a very warm welcome with dinner ready for us when we wanted (which was delicious, by the way!). Check-in and check-out times were a lot more flexible than other places we stayed, including breakfast times. This was important for us as we were cycling long distances and it really helps to get on the road a bit earlier. The home is lovely, the room very comfortable.

    Breakfast was good. Room 56 was rather tired. Basin leaked. WC is a grinder. Bed quite hard. No ventilation as window didn't open. Windows to terrace are either closed or open to the world. It is a long way from the castle in rainy weather. Not enough parking spaces for 4 cars at the annex as there were when I stayed.
