The Old Grammar has had a glow up and boy is it good. From the second we arrived Esther, Lauren and the team could not have been more helpful to us and our canine companion. Little touches like the freshly baked flapjacks and dogs treats for the pup go the extra mile and breakfast too is a cut above. We wished we had more time to enjoy the beautiful public rooms, terrace and garden but we loved it so much we have already booked our next stay. Fantastically located to enjoy clear views over the iconic racecourse the Old Grammar is an unbeatable base to enjoy the delights of Cartmel and the Lake District. Thanks very much to the OG team. We can’t wait to come back.

The cabin was in a perfect location for accessing the lake district and the local area is also well worth a visit (Grange over Sands and Cartmel). The addition of the barbeque and jacuzzi added to a greater enjoyment of the lodge when not sightseeing.

We had an absolutely wonderful 2-day stay at Longsdale House Luxury Apartments in Ulverston. From the moment we arrived, everything was perfect. The apartment was immaculate, beautifully furnished, and equipped with every amenity we could need for a comfortable stay. The attention to detail was impressive – from the cozy bedding to the thoughtful touches like complimentary toiletries and a well-stocked kitchen. The living space was spacious yet cozy, making it ideal for both relaxing and spending quality family time. The location was perfect for exploring the Lake District, with easy access to local attractions while still being tucked away in a peaceful, charming area. Bay Villa is a beautiful, historical property with wonderful views of the bay (we stayed in the upstairs suite). We loved watching the water from the big bath in the bay window and also appreciated the additional separate shower room. Our room was tastefully decorated and the many little ‘extras’ showed thoughtfulness and care on the part of management. Communication was easy and informative and we were warmly welcomed on arrival. Outstanding breakfast (the best we have had in England) was served at the table by the window in our room.

    The property is in an excellent location right in the middle of Cartmel which means you can walk to all the brilliant restaurants and pubs. There is a parking space too which was a bonus but also if there’s more than one car, you can park at the race course which is less than 5 minutes walk and quite reasonable at £35 for a weeks parking. The cottage is well equipped in the kitchen and a nice touch to provide a bottle of fizz and some chocolates on arrival. Also tea, coffee and sugar provided

    Excellent location, on street parking directly outside with permit (provided). Warm and cosy and easy to adjust temperature of central heating. Very clean. Bathroom was a lovely size and all rooms were well equipped and comfortable. It was exactly what we had hoped for. A great location for dining in Cartmel.
