    Evening meal both fundamental food and fancy available. Servicing staff very good. Wine list on the fancy side to match the food but house White OK. Breakfast flexible and fresh. Bed and bedding exceptional. Would have preferred a proper depth desk than a minimal dressing table and no floor length mirror. Parking outside the front door appreciated.

    All staff professional and attentive. We had bar food and the choice was good and the standard excellent. The room for our one night stay was a good size with great bed, pillows and bathroom. Plenty of parking too. Breakfast was also excellent- and cooked to order which is far better than self- serve.

    The room was large, comfortable and clean. It had everything that we needed for a weekend stay. The wet room was huge and well appointed. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout the stay. They offered advice about the area and the food and wine. The food in the restaurant was excellent with two menus to choose from. We were able to enjoy a wide range of choices, but all beautiful cooked and prepared. Ample parking in a delightful setting, so all in all a fabulous place to eat and stay.

    beautifully presented. excellent food; dinner, drinks and breakfast. friendly, efficient staff. Wi-Fi was good and was the easy on-site parking. great location for countryside quiet and beauty. good location for Stansted.. 30-40min drive.

    This was a charming period coaching inn set in a pretty part of north Essex, close to the Suffolk border. Our evening meal and cooked breakfast were very good. The staff were pleasant and helpful. Plenty of parking and nicely decorated room with wet room and shower.
