The decor throughout the building was beautifully designed. Simplistic, good quality furniture and very comfortable. We had an evening meal which was delicious as was the breakfast in the morning. The location is a perfect jumping-off point for exploring the Lake District and there is free parking onsite. The bar downstairs is great, with a fireplace and a good selection of gin and whisky. The owners are so kind and helpful - they even made us some sandwiches on the first evening as we arrived a little too late to find food in Shap. The bed was comfortable. Kettle for tea, coffee, hot chocolate in the room. I could control the temperature of the radiator and wasn’t cold at night. Friendliness of the staff, adequate car parking for free. Hairdryer available in the room. TV well positioned on the wall.
