The breakfast was really good, fresh and very tasty. Only you had to go to the Mestizo hotel in Antigua town, as the Cortijo does not (yet) offer breakfast. The hotel organizes a free transport.

Set in attractive grounds in a small, typically Guatemalan community just outside (5 minutes by Uber) from the centre of Antigua, with stunning views of hills and volcanoes. Casa Buho is a family run bed and breakfast hotel with exceptional quality rooms. This was a great place to stay as we had already spent a month in town, but would also be good if you want to be away from the noise and bustle of the town.

The property is in a good location close to the Central Park. The building itself is beautiful, with a maze of courtyards, dining rooms, rooftop sitting/eating areas, shops, spa business etc. Our room was compact but beautifully appointed. The hotel provides a water station to reduce the use of plastics. A request for an iron and extra coat hangers was promptly actioned. The bed was very comfortable and we always managed to have restful sleeps. We had a very early start at 3:30am on day -travelling to Copan. Juan Jose was very helpful assisting us in contacting the transfer company when they did not arrive on time. All in all a very nice stay.

We loved the old style character of this hotel which felt very much in keeping with Antigua and its history. This hotel is perfectly based to explore Antigua on foot. The room was spotless clean, breakfast was good and the staff were extremely helpful organising onward travel and giving dining recommendations. We throughly enjoyed our stay.

Our recent four-night stay at this delightful hotel was nothing short of wonderful. From the moment we checked in, we were enveloped in warmth and elegance. The rooms were a visual feast, adorned with gorgeous artwork that extended even to the common areas, creating a vibrant and inviting atmosphere. The hotel’s commitment to cleanliness and service was evident throughout our stay. Every staff member we encountered was friendly and eager to assist, enhancing our experience with their helpfulness and smiles. Additionally, the laundry service was efficient and convenient, which was much appreciated during our extended stay. One of the highlights was the beautiful garden area, a serene oasis perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. The hotel also impressed us with thoughtful touches like bedside chargers, complimentary ear plugs, and delightful treats that made our stay even more comfortable and enjoyable. Further adding to the convenience were the additional services offered by the hotel, such as organized tours and shuttle arrangements. These services were seamlessly handled by the staff, making our travel plans effortless. The location of the hotel was ideal, boasting a fantastic sky bar with stunning views, which became our favorite spot to unwind in the evenings. Gustavo, the owner, was a gem of a host—kind, gracious, and always ready to help. His attention to detail and dedication to hospitality deeply enriched our stay. The rooms were well-equipped with essentials such as towels, a safe, two fans, and a hair dryer. The combination lock for the room was a clever touch, providing ease and security for group or family travelers.

    Very beautiful place with secured covered garage parking. I loved and enjoyed the moto-taxi rides they offered to all my destinations. And it’s only a short 5 minute ride to Antigua! Such a lovely place with an amazing staff. Their new terrace is breathtaking, we enjoyed our breakfast there while viewing both volcanoes. Such a homey private house. We will be back!
