Really lovely, modern, tranquil hotel - good decoration, kind of a cool "Bali" vibe with concrete, wood and good design. Amazing views of quiet rice paddy fields. Communal area and restaurant is a nice place to hang out in the evenings. Staff are friendly and helpful - and should you need help with planning amazing local guidance for tours/visits to funeral ceremonies and grave sites etc. with excellent knowledge, then ask for Rashid who can help you plan both guides and driver. We went out with Yohannes (guide) and Mingu (driver) and we had such a lovely few days with them; they went above and beyond to make sure we saw everything we wanted and more and were so knowledgeable in sharing information about the local traditions and culture. Highly educational and lovely!

Ibra and his guesthouse is really the best! He was so nice and helped us A LOT! 🙏 Next to that, the homestay is really clean and the food in the morning is perfect! We had a great stay at Mama Tia! Yacob and his family are great hosts, they offered tour to help us discover the Toraja culture and it was super interesting. The guesthouse is located in rice fields, room is clean and well equipped, super wifi. Common bathroom clean. Nice terrace overlooking the fields. Breakfast good and tasty. We even had dinner there (additional cost but as good as in any restaurant!) 100% would recommend.

Built in traditional Torajan style, Rura Raya Homestay is situated in Rantepao. The rooms here offers modern comforts and while maintaining the traditional decor.

What a lovely homestay! Everything is done with love and attention. A warm welcome by the family, fantastic food, lovely rooms with a spectacular view. And no noise, only the sounds of nature 😊( in Rantepao the mosk will wake you up early in the morning, or great chance there is a karaoke bar somewhere). Highly recommended!

Definitely recommend ! James and Rian are very hospitality and caring, you will definitely feel like home. One of Must do list in Toraja will be catting with them, you can truly know new generation thoughts about their culture, quite inspiring ! And if you have any questions, they basically can give you resolutions and recommendations, so helpful ! BTW their English is high level, had good communication! Miss them already and their little cute son ❤️ The room is not luxury but very organic and clean !

I stayed here for 3 nights. Peso and his wife Anastasia are amazing hosts. Peso knows a lot about Toraja culture and can show you all the ceremonies and local markets. Anastasia is a very good cook, so if you order dinner, be prepared to eat A LOT. The room was spacious and clean and had a lovely mountain view. Peso and Anastasia helped me with everything: how to get to Toraja from Macassar, tour around Toraja, bus ticket to Tentena and lots of other info.
