The location, and the people who manage the farm stay, create an oasis of peace and tranquility for the guests who are fortunate enough to discover Bloomfield Farmhouse. Situated on the fringe of Ghum/Darjeeling, it feels rural and of being surrounded by woodland and tea farms, away from the bustle of Darjeeling. The accommodation is spacious and comfortable, and the on-site dining area well managed providing breakfast and dinner meals which are prepared individually from fresh ingredient’s from their own farming activity.

I can only describe this hotel in superlatives. We were greeted with hot tea and very professional staff members upon check-in. Our room had a fantastic view over the surrounding hills, including the Kanchenjunga. We had water and tea-making amenities in the room. The hotel is quite cold during winter, so wear your jacket in the common areas, but the room was well-heated with a radiator and felt very cozy. It was spacious, with an upper deck where the bed and the bathroom were and a lower deck close to the windows with a social area to enjoy the view. The food in the restaurant was terrific, and so was the service. Altogether, we had an unforgettable experience and will likely come back, despite Darjeeling being several days of travel time from our home.

I stayed at Grand Casa for a day and honestly the stay was brilliant. If you’re looking for some peace and isolation, this is the place. The only thing is it’s a bit away from Mall Road, but trust me it’s totally worth it. They serve proper homely food and it was super tasty. I was lucky the weather was clear and I got the full view of Kanchenjunga right from the balcony. The room was also really spacious. Definitely a memorable stay.

I recently stayed at this property and was absolutely blown away by the view. The property itself was clean, well-maintained, and comfortably furnished, making it easy to settle in. Large windows and a spacious room really let the view take center stage. The host was welcoming and made sure everything was just right. Highly recommend.

The place is cozy and comfortable. Inn location is great, near to zoo- HMI- Museum, Mall Road. The owner and staffs are very kind and helpful. They made sure that the stay is comfortable, even arranged cab facilities for pick and drop and sightseeing with reasonable pricing. Great coordination from end to end!

Staying at this homestay felt just like being with family. The hosts were incredibly kind and welcoming, and their warm behavior truly made the experience special. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, with a beautiful view of the surrounding landscape that added to the charm. The food was absolutely delicious—home-cooked, authentic, and easily some of the best I’ve had during my travels. On top of that, everything was offered at very affordable rates, making it a great value for money. I’m genuinely grateful for the hospitality and care shown by the owner and their family. During our 5-day-stay in Darjeeling, my wife and I were looking for a budget-friendly accomodation that offers everything we need. With Asraya Homestay, we got much more than that. The owner is extremely polite, attentive and caring, while also being very professional and respectful of the guests wishes. The homestay is very new, and accordingly the rooms are freshly renovated, clean and modern. We considered the bathroom with its modern, fresh look and state-of-the-art appliances and the balcony with its amazing view the highlights of the room - and you get all that without putting a big dent in your wallet. All in all, we were very pleased with the room. The only thing that we considered a smal downside was that the temperature in the room was a bit low - a heater is offered for a small daily fee. The hospitality of the host family is unparalalled- they are welcoming in a very warm way while also being open to deeper topics and discussions. What was most amazing to us is that if we needed anything at all, the host, Vicky, was more than happy to help us out with tips or by referring us to the right people. His connections to all kinds of different people as well as his in-depth local knowledge about Darjeeling really shines through here. Their homecooked, organic food is very tasty and was pleasing to our western stomachs due to not being spicy, which is rare to find in India. +A small kitten came to visit every morning :) Also, a big thank you to Sahil and Pratik, who are super humble, friendly and always ready to help. If we ever come to Darjeeling again, we will without a doubt choose Asraya homestays again.
