We needed emergency accommodation after our flight was cancelled at boarding. It was about a 30 min taxi from Narita International Airport. We were greeted by a young man close to midnight who welcomed us and got us settled. The home is a beautiful traditional residence, located in the countryside, with basic necessities provided. Unfortunately we didn’t have the opportunity to explore the area as we had to return to catch a rescheduled flight the next morning, but a wonderful experience. Personal transportation would be beneficial for longer stays.

If you come to tokyo or the area stay at this place! Everything was perfect! I originally chose the place since it is close to the airport which you do not hear btw. The owner welcomed me very warmly, offering tea and giving me tips about nearby places to visit. The house has a 100 year history, I stayed in a traditional tatami room. the rooms are big, much bigger than anything in europe for examle, the shower is spacious as well. And everything is exquisitely clean. I wholeheartedly reccommend anyone to stay at this place! thank you mieko!

The house was exceptionally big and beautiful. It had this traditional feel to it, but also had newly renovated kitchen, bath and even a small sauna! There was more than enough space for 6 adults, all of the necessary amenities, kitchen tools and tableware. The hosts were also super nice. We used the barbecue in the shed to cook tasty burgers.
