This place is a real gem for relaxation. Our room had a great view to the Biwa lake, comfy beds, and an open air bath. Our first dinner was a 10+ plate Kaiseki menu, and as our second dinner we chose crab shabu shabu, which was excellent as well. Tried public onsens (indoor and outdoor pools), private onsen, and massage. Wore Yukatas the whole time :) All public and private areas were exceptionally spacious. The staff were very welcoming. There was a shuttle to/from the nearest train station.

Good location, sufficiently near to Kyoto and Lake Biwa. Two supermarkets within a short drive away. It is best to reach the place by your own car. The house is very well designed, decorated and maintained. Futaba-san is very accommodating and kind. He has extended his hospitality from the moment we booked the accommodation till the day we left, and always so courteous.

The host was incredibly kind and welcoming. He prepared the home to be very clean and cozy for our arrival. When he took us to the train station, I absentmindedly forgot my bag at the house, and he went out of his way to drive back and bring it to me at the station—such a thoughtful gesture! The guesthouse is beautifully decorated and mostly self-built by the host couple. They offered a free welcome drink and we could play pool for free. The rooms are anime themed which also was pretty cool. The host couple was very welcoming and helpful. They really went out of their way for us.

The shuttle bus between train station and hotel is a bonus, even though the hotel is only a short distance away. Room was clean and spacious and overlooked the lake which was fantastic. Breakfast was buffet style and variety was good. We enjoyed dinner at both the Italian and Teppanyaki restaurant. The onsen at night is spectacular overlooking the lake. We did not get the opportunity to explore the town in detail, as we spent a whole day at Biwako Valley. and would recommend a stay longer than the 2 nights we were there. The ferry ride around the lake is a must if you have a spare hour and my wife recommends the gift shop.
