This is the perfect place if you want something quiet and relaxed. It’s placed in the most amazing nature, with a good chance of seeing wild animals :))) With a scooter it’s only 5-10 minutes from the beach and Weligama and mirissa The rooms are so nice and clean with good ac :)) The hosts offer to make both breakfast, lunch and dinner for you, with a small cost Overall amazing place to stay :))))

Wonderful Stay at SithRu Villa – Highly Recommended! We originally planned to stay just 2 nights at SithRu Villa in Matara, but we ended up extending my stay to 4 nights because the experience was so great! A special thank you to Mr. Mangala, the manager, who made my stay truly enjoyable. He was incredibly helpful and kind – he arranged a van with a very nice and reliable driver so I could explore Matara and the surrounding areas comfortably. It made a big difference in my trip. Mangala also helped me order delicious breakfasts and dinners, which I really appreciated. The food was tasty and freshly prepared, and the service was always warm and welcoming. The hotel itself is clean, peaceful, and beautifully maintained. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the overall atmosphere is relaxing – a perfect escape from the busy city life as I live in sjngapore with my family . If you’re visiting Matara, I highly recommend staying at SithRu Villa. The hospitality and service, especially from Mr. Mangala, made this one of the best parts of my trip. I’ll definitely return again!

Beatiful and clean location with a comfortable bed and a nice property. Some smaller shops and restaurants nearby and a lot of green nature surrounding the property. The hosts and housekeepers are super friendly and helpful and can give you a lot of recommendations depending on what you want to do around Weligama or in other areas of Sri Lanka! :) They also have some cute dogs! Would definitely recommend spending a few days here :)

One of the best stays I’ve had on Booking.com. The host is a genuinely good guy — always smiling, always ready to help. His family lives downstairs, guests stay upstairs — you get full privacy and peace of mind. The rooms are spacious, with a fan, AC, and hot water. The kitchen is fully equipped, and there’s always fresh bottled drinking water available. The Wi-Fi is fast and reliable, covering the entire property — perfect if you work remotely or just want a stable connection for streaming or calls. Every morning starts with jungle sounds — birds, peacocks — peaceful and refreshing. It’s just a 7-minute scooter ride to the center of Weligama, and the road is smooth all the way, so getting around is easy and stress-free. The second floor is kept clean, and they’ll change towels and bed linen upon request. Security cameras cover the yard, so you can even leave your stuff outside without worrying. Solid spot — clean, private, well-connected. Would definitely stay again.

My recent stay at Charming Dark Lodge in River was nothing short of exceptional, marking it as the best homestay experience I have ever encountered. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality that exceeded all expectations. The highlight of our stay was undeniably our incredible host, who spared no effort in ensuring our comfort and satisfaction. From delicious lunches and dinners to delightful surprises and the most mouth-watering fish barbecue - probably the best meal I have had in the two months I have been in Sri Lanka. Beyond the culinary delights, our room was a sanctuary of comfort and style. Immaculately clean, equipped with a kitchen containing everything one could possibly need, and beautifully built and decorated. Originally intending to stay for four nights, we found ourselves captivated by the charm of Charming Dark Lodge, extending our stay to twelve nights. Departing was bittersweet, as we had grown attached to the unparalleled hospitality and the tranquil ambiance of our temporary home. A particularly memorable moment was celebrating my birthday during our stay. Our host went above and beyond to ensure it was an unforgettable occasion, adding a personal touch that truly made me feel special. Without a doubt, if I ever find myself in Sri Lanka again, Charming Dark Lodge will be my first choice for accommodation. This was truly a hidden gem in Matara. The place is super clean and nice, the kind hosts were very helpful and supportive. This place had fully equipped kitchen (Microwave, Hot Plate, Electric Kettle, Juice Maker, Refrigerator and all the kitchen equipment you could ever want), There were two rooms which was super clean. Also this place had an Electric iron and there were Washing machine (we didn't use the washing machine) although the place is bit far from town, It is in close proximity to Polhena beach, which is a very beautiful beach. My first impression and stay at the place is not 10 out of 10, but 100 out of 10 ❤️. Highly recommend place and will definitely visit again.

The location is quiet, but not too far from Mirissa town and other local amenities. The villa has an absolutely amazing member of staff who stays onsite during your stay. He was absolutely incredible. Alongside his duties taking care of the villa and garden, he prepared breakfast, arranged tuk tuks and onward transport and also gave advice on activities for our trip. The owner was very friendly and helpful. Communication was great, especially considering this was a last minute booking for us (same day arrival within a couple of hours of making a booking request).
