We had a truly wonderful stay at this family-run guesthouse located near a peaceful river — the sound of the flowing water was so calming, especially after busy days in Kathmandu. The family lives on the property and welcomed us with genuine warmth. Their son greeted us with welcome drinks and later invited us for a lovely morning walk to a nearby temple. His mother prepared delicious breakfasts on the veranda with a stunning view. The whole family was incredibly kind and even invited us to join their son’s birthday celebration and a local festival, which made our stay unforgettable. It’s a quiet and relaxing place with no traffic noise — only the soothing sound of the river. We would love to come back one day! On the photo you can see the family and us. Plus the veranda and the view where we had our breakfast.

My stay was a serene escape. The view of Kathmandu valley and the forest was beautiful, with delightful bird songs in the background. It provided a calm and fresh atmosphere for a perfect one-night getaway. The villa was clean and beds was too comfortable. I loved the most was roof top city and forest view kitchen. Highly recommended!

I really enjoyed the calm and peaceful environment at Hotel Monalisa. The natural views from the balcony and windows were stunning and made the stay even more relaxing. I liked a lot of things about this hotel. I stayed here for over a week. The staff are super friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is well-managed. It's great value, near enough to the main busy section (just a couple minutes away) but also far enough off the main road to be silent. Breakfast is a buffet with anything I wanted including eggs-of-choice. I could sit inside or out, reading or eating. I could watch 24-hour cricket and ask any questions about any innings in any test match ever. That's just for ex-British Empire cricket tragics. English TV stations (CNN, BBC ,...) available in my room. I would so much prefer to stay here than in a giant international you-could-be-anywhere-in-the-world hotel. If I am lucky enough to return, this is where I will book my room.
