First, the facilities: absolutely beautiful traditionally built bamboo houses which come with amenities such as a hot water shower and clean water toilets. The house is surrounded by a tranquil well maintained garden that is hidden from the rest of the busy town that lets you relax on the various garden patios in peace. The place also sells e.g. Coffee, smoothies and breakfast, which all I found good. All facilities were in super clean condition which I liked alot as well. Second, the staff: they were incredibly polite and helpful. The lady working at the place speaks good english and knows a lot about what to do in the region, including bus transport, good restaurants, and sightseeing. It is also possible to rent a scooter for e.g. Daytrips. Personally I booked the scooter to go see Thac Ba lake, and it was one of the highlights of my trip in Viet Nam. For me Yen Bai and the surrounding region were a great pitstop when travelling from Sapa to Hanoi. The areas are beautiful and the town itself is interesting for exploring for an afternoon / full day. It is also not visited by many tourists, which made it an authentic experience of rural Viet Nam for me (especially after the crowded Sapa). However, with so few tourists, there is not much information on anything, no scooter rentals on the street, and no tour guides. This is why I was so pleased about staying at Dinh Gia Trang while at Yen Bai; not only was the accomodation pleasant, but also the helpful staff gave me recommendations and guidance which unlocked the full potential of visiting the otherwise unknown region.

A truly unforgettable stay! The space is filled with natural light thanks to the many large windows, making it feel fresh and airy all day long. The bathroom is impressively spacious, and the kitchen—wow—is the most unique and charming one I’ve ever seen. Everything here is thoughtfully designed and full of creativity. You can really feel the care and love that went into every detail. It’s more than just a place to stay—it’s an experience. I left feeling inspired and completely refreshed. Highly recommended!

Beautiful property with wonderful hosts, LeLe and ETC, with their family. They all made me feel extra welcome and cared for, and were even so sweet to do a surprise birthday for me, including a cake and hand-drawn card, which made my trip that much more special as I was travelling solo. They also took me on a trip to experience the local market. It is decorated throughout with vibrant paintings by ETC. Great place to sit around, enjoy the views (there were some nice decorations for National Day as well), and relax. The area is nice and quiet, but accessible. I really liked the unique styles of the bedroom and bathroom, and the soaker tub was great! I would love to come back if I return to Yen Bai.

I came across this homestay a bit by chance on my way between Sa Pa and Ha Noi and I did not regret it. I was welcomed like a member of the family, as soon as I arrived I was offered tea and I was welcomed at their table with the feeling of being at my grandparents' house. I recommend to take the dinner, for only 50k Vnd you have a meal cooked with love with almost only products from their farm. You can also if you wish go fishing with them in their lake. The dormitory is on a human scale, they only have 3 beds and since they have just opened, the equipment is quite new. Last but not least, the owner's daughter speaks perfect English, and even if she is not always present on site she remains available at any time by WhatsApp. Otherwise, communication by Google translate is also done

Good and comfortable for a quick overnight stay en route to Sa Pa. Please note that the property is not on Google Maps and the coordinates given on Booking.com to copy are incorrect. Look up “Chợ Đá Quý Yên Bái” on Google Maps and that is where the guest house is.

Great and lovely family vibe. We did the boat tour with the owner and enjoyed it a lot. The food was amazing and we loved the fried pumpkins like other guests wrote before us :)
