It is a little way down the road from the city, which means it is quiet and very laid back. I had both a breakfast and a dinner while at the guest house. Both were great portions with a lot of variety, tasty, and well worth the money. Unfortunately, my schedule and Wendy's schedule didn't align for her bird tour. There was lots of flora and fauna to explore. My personal sightings included Toucans and a Morpha butterfly. I'm willing to bet that there was a lot I missed that Wendy could have found and shared!

The food was great and we loved the coffee hour and banana bread! We also did the coffee farm tour, which was amazing! The tour guide was so knowledgeable and talked a lot about their sustainable farming practices.

The staff is very welcoming, and the restaurant very good. All in all, a delightful stay!

Middle of the rainforest sits their cute little wood cabin. There is not glass only mesh windows which is nice but a bit loud in the night with animals and rain. The washroom is clean with warm water shower that requires a bit of tinkering to get. Wendy and her family was so nice to us even though we only stayed a day. The location is near the Tirimbina reserve so we stayed here for the night walk. Cute dog too! Hummingbirds were right outside the cabin feasting on flowers.

It's the baby of a CR artist who bought the land in the 80s. His artist friends all wanted to come and visit, so he had to make more room. All by himself and his friends. And then more artists from all over came, helped with the build and left their mark everywhere- murals, sculpures, whatever. And I have this from the horse's mouth, as we had the privilege to meet both the owner and his grandson in person. Oh, to have been a fly on the wall back then...And the drive up there is amazing as well. This place is mindblowing.
