We definitely got the feeling we were here very out of season (end October), which we didn't mind, as we were there for the hiking. 'Breakfast basket', was easily enough for a packed lunch too.

We stayed a night here, to break the long road journey from Levi to Tromso and ended up seeing the Northern lights similar to what is in their profile picture, right from the hotel! The staff were so awesome that they felt like family. The rooms were very comfortable and ours was at the end of the corridor with a big window overlooking a snow clad hill. There is a warm seating area next to the reception, with a real fire place, giving it a great vibe. A lot of activities (as much as you can expect from a 150- person tiny village) on offer around the place, which also is the NW most point of Finland and right next to the borders with Sweden and Norway too. There is a bus change at Kilpisjarvi when going to Tromso or the other way round, and the bus stops right at the hotel. Overall we couldn't find a single negative to list out. Special mention to Niila and Sari - thank you from our hearts. The spruce ice cream dessert at dinner remains the best dessert we have had traveling across EU, in the past two weeks!

Santa's Hotel Rakka is a beautiful complex with a design hotel, scenic restaurant and full-service apartments. The hotel is located 500 metres from Lake Kilpisjärvi, offering views to the lake, Saana fell and Käsivarsi Wilderness Area. We stayed at this place for 2 nights. I would rate this property with higher numbers if I could... ;-) It's an unbelievable accommodation. Everything was perfect - the rooms were very big, an appartment was very clean, kitchen was fully equipped, And the breakfast was just unbelievable. Such a big variety of food incl Sami food! Staff is so nice! Parking is for free. The location is just a few minutes walk from Tsahkal Falls

Exceptionally clean throughout, with a well appointed kitchen. The sauna, shower and cooling room were perfect. Beds and bunks were wonderfully comfortable. Traditional custom made fireplace was awesome! Owners provided plenty of pre-split wood on site. Owners were available, friendly and very helpful. It really was a most enjoyable stay. I so want to return! Next time I will stay longer!! Everything was excellent!
