We were lucky to find this gem!!! Husna is one of a kind. Her generosity to make things easy for us was incredible; transport, ferry tickets, recommendations of where to eat and more. Communication was seamless and the breakfast and bed were the best we have had in raja amput. Thanks Husna for your warmth, care, kindness and amazing smile! We will be back. Highly recommend Sandy guesthouse for a night on the way in or out from the islands.

Offering a terrace and a private beach area, Alter Native Stay is situated in Tapokreng. Free private parking is available on site. Some rooms include a seating area where you can relax. Closeness to nature, which is still unspoiled. Lots of birds, fishes and ofcourse the marine life that is easy accessible from PapuArts Alter Native Stay. Family feeling; easily to feel at home with this lovely family of four (Helga, Timon and their 2 beautiful young daughters who love to make friends). Oh, and I forgot their two sweet dogs Ringo & Dingo 🐾🐾 Owners are very helpful and speak several languages so easy to communicate with them. Internet is sometimes a bit unstable so take that into account when expecting speedy replies (sometimes it just doesn’t work and patience is a good thing to have). The food - home style cooking (breakfast, lunch and dinner are all cooked by the owner and her team and she is a great cook; we loved every meal which was perfectly catered to our vegetarian / pescatarian wishes) The rooms are close to nature as well, with very comfy beds (we stayed in both the smaller and the biggest family room, which easily fits 3 respectively 4 people; the 3rd bed in the smaller room has a wonderful treehouse feeling and there is a bunkbed in the biggest room). Hard to capture the beauty of the rooms in just one picture (I took several but could only post one here with my review). You can hear the sea and birds from your bedroom. It’s right next to you. No frills, just natural materials, which we loved. Also no warm water, but easily to get used to. There’s a shower and mandi style shower. Also your own toilet. Plus the blue blue sea right at your doorstep and a lovely sitting area with a hammock to complete the zen-feeling. There’s a long jetty into the sea with a perfect spot for exercise/meditation/yoga at the end. Fitness with a view! It’s quiet and feels very private. You instantly feel relaxed here. Different excursions to choose from, both on land and on/under the sea. Please note: these come at an extra cost and Raja Ampat area is not cheap!!!! Very well designed resort. Balinese style. Amazing, super helpful and friendly staff. Delicious food. We are vegetarians and we were very well looked after. Corwyn and his team went out of their way to help with any and all requests that we had. We stayed in a lovely water villa with sunrise views over the water and mangroves. Fantastic house reef with a black tip reef shark, octopus, cuttle fish as well as lots of other reef fish and coral. We would highly recommend this as a diving base with comfortable and welcoming facilities. Thank you very much we will be back!

The staff were all incredibly welcoming and wonderful!!! The food was some of the best that I’ve had during my travels in Indonesia. My friend and I enjoyed the snorkeling around our cabin and exploring the mangroves from the walkways. It’s easy to do day trips from the resort.
