The rooms were clean and spacious, and breakfast was available. As a bonus, the price was extremely low — almost ridiculously cheap considering everything that was included. I highly recommend this accommodation to anyone visiting Berastagi.

Set 10 km from Siti Nurbaya Bridge and 47 km from Mount Talang, Mila Homestay features accommodation situated in Padang. There is free private parking and the property offers paid airport shuttle service. Great place to stay close to Padang and Mentawai. The room is very comfortable. AC works well. Breakfast is delicious. The area is surrounded by rice fields and it’s very beautiful to walk around for the sunset. Dila is very kind and welcoming. She borrowed us her scooter to go to the city center and she advised us on few restaurants and cafes. And we also had a chance to spend a day together. Dila showed us around Padang .. beautiful waterfall, jungles hike. The place is calm and we had a good rest. Totally recommend!

You can tell he really cares about his guests. The room and bathroom are very clean and comfortable. The food is incredible too (plenty of vegan and vegetarian options)! I did a 2 night jungle trek with them as well and everything was very well organised, great food and fruit on the trek, comfortable campsites by the river and close to a waterfall. You could tell that the guide really enjoyed being in nature, he had so much knowledge about the animals and plants and made us feel really safe. I got a bee sting and he had magic oil that made the sting disappear in just 30 min! I had a really great stay and trek with Brian and his team and definitely recommend them and would definitely come back one day! :)

Located in Bukit Lawang in the Sumatra region, Jhony's Backpacker-Guest House only stay here book treking with us features a balcony. Booking that turned out to be one of the best experiences in my life. The host Jhony was very helping with everything and was kind to sell me the tour for almost original price despite the fact that I’m a solo traveller. His student Lana became my guide in the jungle for two days, he was a great companion, took good care of everything, told many interesting facts and stories. We saw 9 orangutans and many other animals. Food that’s included for trekking was delicious, lots of fruits. The overall route is easy, but there were some challenging parts, and you have to be ready for inconveniences regarding sleeping or going to toilet, it’s not a luxury resort after all. Also rafting isn’t scary at all and super fun. The accommodation in the village was nice, especially for this price, bed has a curtain to protect you from insects.

And the location of the guest house is great. Right next to the river. From the terasse you can look down on the river and enjoy the village life.
