Amazing experience in a traditional style with a modern comfort. The hotel is located in a quiet place ~20 mins walk from the ferry port. It may sound far but the hotel provides the shuttle bus as often as you need. We were prepared for the ryokan rules about the shoes, so it wasn’t a surprise for us. The traditional room is very beautiful, clean, looks better in real life than on the pictures. Nice view from the window, I even saw an eagle on the tree. The hotel staff is extremely polite and helpful. Usually the staff set up the bed after the dinner but they set it up for me when I asked for a day nap. The dinner and breakfast servings is extraordinarily. Nice choice of exclusive souvenirs, especially loved the Momiji manju cookies, the ones from the hotel are MUCH better than the ones from the shopping street. In general, I highly recommend to stay here at least for 1-2 night for better exploration of Miyajima without rush.

A 3-minute stroll from Itsukushima Shrine, Miyajima Grand Hotel Arimoto boasts an outdoor hot spring bath. It offers luxurious Japanese-style and Western rooms and a free shuttle from Miyajima Pier. 部屋が思っていたよりもとても広くてきれいでした。外出する時には送迎バスがいつでも使えて良かった。食事が丁度いい量で色々楽しめて良かった。
