The interior design was minimalist which we really liked. There is a Lawson downstairs in the neighboring building but we couldn't find it. Can't comment on the sky pool or breakfast since we didn't try them.

And a modern one, which does not always happen in Japan. I liked the additional facilities - washing machine, microwave and even currency exchange machine (at a rate much more descent than in the main street).

It was a great stay for both me and my wife. I would recommend this hotel to anyone that plans to visit Tokyo. The breakfasts were probably the best we had in Japan, exceeding some 5 stars hotels from international brands. One time we also took the lunch and it was delicious, although maybe a bit on the expensive side. The train station was just 2 minutes away, and we reached the major Tokyo attractions within <1 hour, and the beautiful harbor in Yokohama in just 30 minutes. Haneda airport was also easily accessible, with a direct train departing from a station within 10 minutes walk.

Astonishing view and nicely decorated place. Excellent breakfast and dinner. The staffs are friendly and helpful to any queries. It's the best place we've ever stayed during our Japan trip. The highlight of this place? Their onsen. The vibe—it was quite therapeutic and peaceful. I wish we had more time to enjoy the onsen.

HakoneHOSTEL1914 is located in Hakone, 6 km from Hakone-Yumoto Station. Train and bus services are available. All rooms are air conditioned. Shared bathroom. Best place we've stayed in all of Japan! This place is absolutely amazing, the hostel is clean and in an excellent location with everything you could need. What really makes it though is the host, Kana, who went above and beyond and was so kind, helpful and friendly. If you do one thing when staying in Japan make sure it's staying here!
