Great hotel in Matsushima, loved my stay there! I arrived a little bit earlier than expected and the team helped me doing an early check-in. Room was spacious and very comfortable. Location is great too: it's a short walking distance to the city centre and also close to the Matsushima and Takagimachi JR stations. The hotel team was outstanding: the couple managing the ryokan are great and the rest of the team did a very very good job too. Very good value for money. Highly recommended!

Set in Ishinomaki, within 37 km of Shiogama Shrine and 49 km of Sendai City Community Support Center, Tama Hotel offers accommodation with a restaurant and as well as free private parking for guests who drive. Featuring free bikes, the 2-star hotel has air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi, each with a private bathroom. The hotel has family rooms. We stayed in Ishinomaki for two nights to go to Tashirojima (Cat Island). At first we only planned to stay one night but we enioyed ourselves so much that we decided to stay another day. The hotel is entirely cat themed and there is a cat house that you can visit during the day to play with cats free or charge. The owner is extremely nice and offers many other free of charge services, such as driving and picking you up to/from the ferry to Tashirojima. He also bought us breakfast at a local Bakery. We recieved a room upgrade free of charge since it wasn't too busy and which offered a self service Whisky bar in the room! There is also free wine available in the dining building and the Lobby. Having another day, we used the hotels bikes (which were also free of charge!) to explore the small but lovely town of Ishinomaki. Generally speaking we had an absolut blast and I cannot recommand this place enough. I will definetly come again!

Sendai Toshogu is 21 km away and Rakuten Seimei Park Miyagi is 22 km from the guest house. The guesthouse owner was very friendly, spoke great English. We had quite a few conversations, and he gave me some insights into Matsushima and Japan, as well as sightseeing/food/onsen recommendations at Matsushima. The guest house is exceptionally clean and well maintained, like a newly renovated premise. The room is equipped with air conditioning and comes with a key for you to lock the door. The location is very well located, just a 75m walk from the busy street, which makes it a clean and quiet place to stay, while having walking access to the different attractions of Matsushima.

Tokinenoyado Yunushi Ichijoh is situated in the Kamasaki Onsen district in Shiroishi, a 15-minute drive from Shiroishi Station and Shiroishi-Zao Station. Guests can enjoy the on-site private dining room. Free private parking is available on site. It was absolutely exceptional, from the food, to the staff, to the service and hot springs, everything was simply immaculate. You cannot get any better than this.

A free shuttle is available from JR Matsushima Kaigan Train Station, which is a 5-minute drive away. Very nice view and staff. The arrangement of after check-in service brings a wonderful experience.
