The owner, Sahan, lived in Japan for 11 years. So he welcomed me. He hopes that many Japanese people will stay there. His family and friends are also very kind. This hotel is close to the ruins. You can rent bicycles. The rooms are clean and have air conditioning. The service is also good. If I come to Polonnaruwa again, I will definitely stay here again.Thank you so much for the two days.

From the moment we arrived, we felt truly welcomed. The manager went above and beyond to help us plan local trips, and the staff were incredibly kind and comforting. A highlight was the surprise invitation to a local cuisine cooking class on our first day—we had so much fun! The hotel is exactly like the pictures, spotless, and well-maintained. If I could rate it higher, I would. Highly recommend and can’t wait to return!

The view was the most breathtaking we have ever seen— view of swimming monkeys, water buffalo, and countless beautiful birds was an experience we will never forget. The owner was amazing—so friendly and welcoming. He went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. He even brought us breakfast at 5 AM before our early morning safari, which was incredibly kind and thoughtful. We also highly recommend the cooking class hosted by his sister and niece. It was a fantastic experience, and we learned so much about local cuisine while enjoying a warm and friendly atmosphere. If you're looking for a place with stunning nature, exceptional hospitality, and unique experiences, Lake Cabin is the perfect choice!

I really enjoyed my stay, the room and bathroom facilities were very very clean and we had a great balcony where we enjoyed breakfast and dinner. Homemade food was delicious, and we really felt welcome. We really appreciated the bike rent that is very convetient to go visit the sacred city from the home stay. I recommend 100% to stay at this lovely family place :) thank you !

We loved the charm and character of the place, as well as its fantastic location on the lake. Great at sunrise and sunset. The pool was bracing, but fun with the kids after a morning cycling around temples or an afternoon safari.

Tishan Holiday Resort is located in Bendiwewa in the region of Polonnaruwa. The archaeological area is 3.5 km away from Tishan Hotel. Hotel features a year-round outdoor pool and sun terrace. The staff was extremely friendly and went out of their way to make sure I had a good stay. Unfortunately, it rained the afternoon I was there so didn’t get to enjoy the pool, but it looked great and well kept.
