When we see a lake with crocodiles, then again, we see a dry bush area, and we see a rough rock area. We felt the difference in Yakaduru's environment as we walked through bush walks. It's a traditional tour package, and we experienced safari and camping there. We could see how they roasted BBQ for us outdoors. So, we were excited to gain more and more varied experiences continuously. Rooms are small but sufficient, with all facilities. They resemble clean, pretty village houses. We felt like we were in a traditional world, living a village life. It's a great experience that you must have.

From the moment we arrived we felt welcome and cared for - the staff really want to make sure you have a comfortable and enjoyable stay. This is evident in the facilities - air con, good fans, filtered water in the room, mosquito nets (even though there weren’t many mosquitos), a fridge, a hair dryer, adapters to suit every country’s appliances. My favourite - bicycles. This allowed us to ride around town - a thoroughly enjoyable way to see the place. We did an afternoon safari and managed to see a sloth bear! Along with so many other animals - many elephants, crocodiles, deer, bird species, mongoose, jackals, goannas (probably forgetting a lot here). The leopard eluded us. My husband and I have been on safari in Africa so we thought maybe we’d be underwhelmed - but it was awesome. The pool was great for my kids. The temperature was just right. Breakfast was tasty and very generous, and the place has such a peaceful outlook over the rice fields. All of this for such good value. Thank you to all the staff for making this such a lovely stay.

Located 6.6 km from Tissa Wewa, Ranakeliya Lodge - Yala provides accommodation with a garden, a terrace and room service for your convenience. The lodge features both WiFi and private parking free of charge. It was such a fabulous stay. The tent was very comfortable and we were not too hot at all. The food was delicious. My favourite was the rice. The chef Jayalath did an amazing job and breakfast too was delicious. Madushan looked after us really well. Always with a smile and happy to help with everything. They arranged the safari for us which was fantastic. Supan our driver was all over it. Safe driver. He spotted things that only a trained eye would. He was friendly and fun. Highly recommend. Jayalath cooked us an amazing packed lunch. Eating outside by the campfire with oil lights was fabulous. We even had a crocodile who liked our left overs. The two dogs onsite were amazing. I really felt they protected the children especially. If they walked somewhere one or both dogs went with them. They slept on our porch at night. We were just charmed.
