Vytautas Mineral SPA is located in Birštonas, next to a lake. The property offers a spa centre with a sauna, hammam, indoor pool and a fitness centre. The rooms were spatious enough with a sizeable shower and bed. But you will spent most of the time outside the room anyway because the welness area was amazing. With a swimming pool, a recreation pool containing various therapeutic water features, a large bublebath and two dry and two wet saunas, we spent every minute we had in the welness area. There are also lounge chairs inside and outside you can use to read a book. The changing rooms are quite big and have a device to remove water from your swimwear. Massages and other treatments such as mudbaths are available on demand. We did not try these. We had the breakfast buffet which was very good and included some typical Lithuanian treats which was a nice touch. The hotel also provides both fresh and mineral water for you to drink at the entrance. There is a library and two nice restaurants you can access from the hotel. For a nice relaxing get-away this is the perfect destination.

Private parking is also available. 今回、新市街の１．５ｋｍ　大歩行者天国のライスヴェス通りの真ん中に位置するこのホテルに５泊しました。 結婚４０周年の旅行ですとコメントしたら、このライスヴェス通りに面した３階のバルコニー付の部屋を用意して頂きました。　バルコニーから遠くに見る聖ミカエル教会やライスヴェス通りを歩く人々を見ながらの素晴らしい景色でした。 レストランは地下一階。　ここに小さな密造酒ミュージアム（器具などの展示）があります。　この辺りでは唯一、公式に密造酒（と同じレシピの）お酒が飲めるとのこと。　　朝食もとても美味しくお勧めです。　ついでに余ったパンやチーズ、ハム、野菜などでお昼のサンドイッチも作ってしまいました。　という事でお昼も贅沢な具材のたっぷりサンドを毎日楽しんでいました。 旧市街のホテルやそれ以外のホテルも検討しましたが、他のホテルに泊まった人たちの話を聞くと、圧倒的にこのカウナスホテルはレベルが高いように感じました。　という事で、多少高めの印象はありますが、ロケーションと言い、雰囲気と言い、美術館や博物館へのアクセスなどを考えたら、とてもコスパがよく、大満足でした。　 （２０２３年８月、　５泊宿泊）
