Birhan made all the arrangements perfectly about our transfer from the airport , the visit to the unique churches and our meals. The hospitality we had was memorable! Dessiew and his family are very welcoming and made me feel at home in Lalibela. The rooms are spacious, clean and very comfortable. The breakfast is delicious! Dessiew helped me visiting the churches and the mountain. For those interested he can also help you plan your trip in other regions in Ethiopia. Belay was a great guide with lots of knowledge of the history of Lalibela. I can recommend everyone to stay here.

The host Desta went out of his way to make us as comfort as possible. Lalibela was blackout during our stay, Desta used backup generator to insure we had hot water for shower and fresh juice in the breakfast . The hotel itself sit in a perfect location, clean & stylish rooms, amazing view from balcony. 5 minutes short walk to town center, 10 minutes to churches. Desta is very knowledgeable & kind person, he knows everything about Lalibela & Ethiopia. we spent amazing time in hotel”s beautiful garden with him and his lovely family . All staffs are very helpful and always with smile. Highly recommended if you will visit beautiful Lalibela, stay here, you will not regret

A cozy little hotel with a very friendly staff and owner. The place is tastefully decorated, the room was clean and the view from the balcony was breathtaking. It’s really well located, no too far away from the churches in a quiet area. The wifi also worked well even when there was no internet connection in the town due to the political situation. Perfect place to stay in Lalibela.

The owner, Teddy arranged the transfer from the airport to the guesthouse, with a local taxi, at the real price. His all family are very friendly and helpful. The guesthouse (very clean, with a remarkable view to the mountains) is close to the monolithic monasteries and the restaurant Kana, where you can take the lunch or dinner. Teddy can arrange various tours with various guides at reasonable prices. It was the best option to choose Merkeza Guest House.

New hotel in excellent location in Lalibela, which amazing views from the rooms. The staff were so kind and spoke excellent English, breakfast and dinner were generous and tasty, and it is only a 2 minute walk to the famous churches of Lalibela. The rooms are huge with comfortable beds and lots of hot water. Highly recommend!
