It is a very big and clean house. The kotatsu was very cozy. The beds were soft and nice, I was impressed with the quality of the blankets. Nice garden also.

The staff at the hotel were all amazingly friendly and accommodating. Some staff even speak 4 difference language. The breakfast were absolutely amazing. We did the Japanese breakfast and it was fabulous (I was not prepare for the natto, end up wasting the food). We totally enjoyed the private outdoor onsen however it need to make an reservation to use. It is first come first serve basis, I would recommend check-in early to have more time slot to choose. The hotel is right next to a bus stop so access is not an issue. It was a highlight of our trip for sure!

most traditional ryokan we stayed in. slept so well on the tatami! our room had a great view; we kept the curtains fully open our whole stay. the property has 3 onsen, all private. The outdoor onsen is reservable in 40 minute increments in the evening and 30 minute increments in the morning. we took full advantage - ending and starting the day with a soak was amazing. we stayed here over the new year so a lot of area restaurants were closed. the hosts went out of their way and provided us with dinner and breakfast at the property (and accommodated food allergies as well). the property is decently easy to get to - we took the gondola to Togendai; it was about a 20 minute walk from there down some trails to Onsenso. There's also a bus that stops nearby. Tip: we left most of our luggage in a locker in Odawara Station and took with us only what we need for our couple days in Hakone. this gave us great flexibility to explore the area.

Check-in process was easy using the iPad. Door to the unit is also via keypad code so there's no worry about losing keys. There is a very friendly foreman on-site to help with any check-in queries. He was also available to instantly fix a leaky tap in the unit. The unit was very clean, modern and gave a very unique log cabin vibe which was pleasant. The bed was very comfy and the unit was well-equipped with camping chairs, cooking utensils, fridge etc. The toilet was also very clean and spacious. Plenty of sofa room to lounge around or place your luggage on. The location is pretty great as it is near the bus stop and is surrounded by several restaurants, shops and a supermarket.

For people who have dog this is heaven! Very nice place and all facilities and staff are very friendly to dogs. We had two wonderful nights here. Rooftop view (blue floor with WAN’s Resort print) is second to none!
