We had a stay of one night after our stay at the other villa of Shameera. Also this Villa is a great place to be, really fantastic. Once again, the host Shameera is a wonderful guy. He is so kind and polite, he helped with everything. eg giving some really good hints, what to do and what kind of activities are good to join. It was our pleasure to stay in this Villa also and also to meet such a great person like Shameera. Thank you for everything, you have done for us. Sarath, Pearly and their daughter Sachini, not forgetting Sanju the 16 year old dashund are the most charming hosts. We travelled as two couples and were made to feel at home immediately. The guest rooms are on the upper floor, which we had to ourselves with a separate external staircase to access it. We also had use of the fridge in the kitchen at the rear which our delicious breakfasts were prepared in.each day. This is served on the spacious balcony surrounded by tropical trees which attract many species of beautiful birds, chipmonks and fruit bats, ,which is just about the best way we can think of to start the day. Both rooms had private bathrooms, one being ensuite and the other just outside the room, but not a problem at all. The beds were large and comfortable and there was plenty of space for storing our belongings. This was important to us because we'd been travelling around and this was our last base for 10 nights. It was great to finally be able to unpack everything and get organised. In addition to the access door each room also has double doors which open out onto the balcony too. The bathrooms are very clean with powerful separate shower cubicles. Location wise the Villa is positioned only a few hundred yards off the main Galle Road down a narrow side road, but it feels as though you're nowhere near to it as we couldn't hear any traffic noise at all. Continue down the lane past the villa, over the little bridge and meander down the various lanes you can take and within 10 minutes you'll find yourself at the beautiful Moragalla beach. This was our seventh trip to Sri Lanka and we've been fortunate enough to stay in some great places over the years but Beach Gate Villa is definitely in our favourites list. As far as value for money goes it has to be top. We will definitely be back on our next trip. Thank you guys for a wonderful stay x

“Lena” means “squirrel” in Sri Lankan, so don’t be surprised if you spot these little cuties around you at breakfast. This family-run place, nestled in the heart of nature, is a true haven of peace. The only sounds you’ll hear might be the songs of the birds. The hotel is just perfect ; the king-size bed is very comfortable, and the shower is worthy of a place that charges three times the price. Breakfast, included in the rate, is excellent: fresh local seasonal fruits, savory bites, and perfectly cooked eggs. Don’t hesitate to come meet this lovely family, where each member plays a specific role and does so with great care and love. Car taxi service, tuk-tuk rides, and a local guide are also available.

I'm an expat living in Sri Lanka for 2 years. Been to a dozen of hotels around the island and so far this one of my favorite places. It's a nice small hotel/guesthouse for like 10 rooms. The garden and scenery inside is absolutely marvellous! They have a pool and unlike most of the enormous hotel pools with water temperature +30C in SL, it's small and really refreshing! The staff is really pleasant and helpfull (special cheers to Achala :). There was a construction works going in the neighborhood, and they moved me to the better room in another block far away from the noise for free. All the minor problems with the equipment have been dealt immediately. Very pleasant people and atmosphere where I felt like home. The location is also very nice - it's 1.5 hour ride from Colombo and you can just go there for a weekend. I came for 3 days, stayed for 2 weeks. WiFi is pretty good. It's also 3 minute walk from northern Moragalla beach which has a distant underwater reef that protects from waves and high tide even at the worst weather and during off season. Breakfast is good as well as dinner a-la-carte. This is not a luxury place but really cozy and totally worth the price. Will come back there again for sure

    A piece of heaven in the countryside of Sri Lanka. The villa is located inside a beautiful garden and just 10 min from the beach. The host will do everything to make you feel at home. I really appreciate that the host took me to visit the surrounding area free of charge. The breakfast was delicious, with a choice of Sri Lankan, Indian or Western food. For a very reasonable price, he also offers an excellent dinner. Thanks again :)

    One of the most beautiful places we stayed in Sri Lanka! The atmosphere is just amazing. Everything is perfect from the natural tasteful decorations, the staff that makes you feel at home, the wonderful location right at the beach. Price is very good for what you get. Super clean room.

    The perfect place to relax and unwind. Peaceful Accommodation with character and attention to detail. Super friendly staff and incredibly good food. Ray and Nina are very attentive, take time for their guests and have lots of tips. Due to the small number of guests, everything is very personal and great conversations and contacts are made. The house dog Cookie and the little cat Mango make it even more homely.Not an easy departure - we would come back in a heartbeat!
