I have to give this property an amazing review. It’s not 5 star and it doesn’t claim to be but this was a last min booking due to a cancelled flight. I was out in the cold at 10:30pm at night and no one was awake. The office was closed. The assistant manager found me crying outside and made an exception for me. There was one room left but it wasn’t clean. He went above and beyond to quickly clean it for me so I had a warm place to sleep for the night. There were many cancelled flights and no hotels had room. Vinay went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable. Bringing some food for me as well. Amazing kiwi hospitality, you have done Nz proud. As an expat myself I cannot speak more highly. Thank you so so much.

Braemar is an old house, over 100 years old and it shows its age. But that is part of its charm, if you like boutique experiences and can appreciate antiques, then you will be delighted to stay here. The host has got to be one of the best I have ever encountered, he is very friendly, engaging, and knowledgeable about the history of the home and of Auckland. It helps that he was a radio personality "back in the day". I would stay there again just to have social time with.

We were very warmly welcomed along with our 7 month old puppy. It was easy to find and close to the motorway exit. We slept well, as it was quiet and the beds were comfortable. Our hosts provided a range of breakfast food, as well as items from their own pantry that we wanted. It was all impeccably clean. Our dog enjoyed the interactions with our hosts and freedom to roam the living area, as well as the wooded area adjacent.

Superb accommodation! I don't know what we loved most: the lovely host, Peter, the excellent location, the thoughtful design with its endless admirable details, the tropical feel, the peace, or the prime location close to cafes and restaurants. It was one of our best stays in the past few years, and we're already looking forward to coming back.
