The view from the terrace overlooking the greenery was absolutely breathtaking – a perfect spot to unwind after a day of exploring. The highlight was the food. They served some of the best local dishes I’ve ever had in Vietnam. Yen offers great value for money and is the perfect base for anyone looking to explore the natural beauty of Cat Ba Island. I would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the area – it’s a true hidden gem!

An amazing homestay. Everyone is lovely and helps you get the best time. The place is paradise like and easily the best homestay of Viet Hai as it is the most immersive with little bungalows blending into the garden. The bungalows are quite confortable and clean. Would stay again for sure!

The breakfast was delicious and the people really nice. Ask for the mango pancakes, they are amazing! The location is quiet and chill, you can rent a motorbike and be downtown in about 15 minutes

This homestay is located on the beautiful island of Cat Ba. We first decided to stay here to be able to see the bay areas and it ended up being the perfect place! Away from the more touristic spots, this island provides a genuine feel for the place- A great place to go hiking to a beautiful viewpoint, as well as cycle. Everyone at the homestay were immensely welcoming and helpful. We had an amazing experience going on an excursion to a private beach, having an evening BBQ while watching the sunset, and kayaking back at night to discover the lights that hide amongst the darkness- bioluminescent plankton! To top everything off, we spent the night in great company with the guys working at the hostel and had some traditional happy water! Highly recommended.

Beautiful, quiet and peaceful location to stay, especially after the hustle and bustle of Hanoi. The staff are the loveliest people you’ll ever meet; very friendly and helpful. The rooms were very clean and comfy. It’s further out of town than most places, up in the beautiful mountains, but it’s an easy taxi ride to town and the pier for cruises. And the place caters to all needs incl a simple breakfast, a vast dinner menu, and drinks.

CG and the rest of the staff are absolutely amazing. They went out of their way to ensure I had a great stay — not only at Eco Lodge but on the island of Cat Ba. The lodge has great recs about restaurants, scooters to rent, and is near a lake and the national park. Additionally, I loved CG’s dogs! Highly recommend this beautiful oasis as a place to get to know Cat Ba and other travelers. Would 10/10 stay here again and/or recommend to friends/family.
