We are sorry to not been able to stay longer.

In a quiet village with beautiful countryside. The rooms were modern, amazing and large and the bathroom equally as big and modern. We ate in the restaurant and the food was amazing, as well as the staff. The owner is the gem, what a wonderful lady and host who looked after us. Breakfast was also amazing with lots of lovely bread, croissants etc and meats and hams. We did not want to leave!

It’s not a museum (although it easily could be); instead, it exudes comfort and history in equal measure. Staying there feels like visiting relatives in their ancestral home—you’re genuinely made to feel welcome. We absolutely loved it! Just a note: it’s not a five-star hotel. In fact, we stayed at one the night before, and both my husband and I actually preferred the accommodations and the heartfelt welcome we received at Montalembert. We optioned out of the breakfast as we are not big morning eaters, and walked to a nearby bakery for croissants, when we returned there was coffee served in the kitchen, and it was delicious!

The setting is gorgeous, the hotel is beautiful and comfortable, and the food was excellent. The dinner we had was perfectly prepared, and delicious. Unfortunately, this was only an overnight stop on our way back to the airport, and I feel our travel agenda did not do it justice. I would have loved to linger here for several days.
