This is a truly lovely house where you immediately feel part of a family. We were delighted by the warm reception and the cozy, homely atmosphere. The location by the lake is stunning, offering beautiful views. In summer there are many midges, which can be a bit annoying, but that’s the trade-off for such a scenic lakeside setting. The kitchen is exceptionally well equipped—you’ll find everything you need, and even some thoughtful extras like coffee and pasta left for guests. It really felt like staying at our grandparents’ home, full of comfort and warmth. A very strong recommendation, especially if you are traveling as a family. We absolutely loved it.

Located within 2.6 km of Myvatn Nature Baths, Birkilauf in Myvatn has a number of amenities, including lake and mountain views. The house was excellent. It is located in a private area in a lava field and is surrounded by low trees. It has a large common living room with an open kitchen. The living room had large glass openings and we could see the trees. It also has a very large balcony with a table and chairs to enjoy nature. The entire house is surrounded by a he living room had large glass openings single balcony with tables and chairs per room. The kitchen was fully equipped and had everything we needed to make a full breakfast (eggs, oil, butter, jams, milk, etc.) The room was clean and comfortable. The host was cheerful and gave us information about the area. Lake Myvatn, the baths and the other attractions are very beautiful and worth the stay. Unfortunately when we went the Grjotagia cave was closed, but we were compensated by the other attractions.
