Very nice house close to Mount Aso. For us as western foreigners the whole region was quite different from the picture we typically make ourselves of Japan - much more rural and rather sparsely populated. Very interesting to see and experience. Ken is an excellent host, giving great recommendations and caring for his guests.

The property itself was wonderful, had everything we needed and felt like home. Our trip was focused on taking advantage of Aso's beautiful nature and the cottage's location allowed us to do this. It was also great to know that there was a large bath to use after the hike to soak our tired legs!

Bien accueilli - super petit-déjeuner japonais fait maison et copieux - calme dans la maison et environnement extérieur - j’ai eu droit à une chambre avec 2 petits lits et un grand salon/bureau le tout séparé. C’était au RDC. Une cuisine/salle de bain et des wc partagés au RDC. J’ai pu communiquer avec le couple , sont très gentil et donnent de bonnes infos touristiques. Je reviendrai avec un grand plaisir pour rester plus de temps. Il faut absolument une voiture pour s’y rendre. Je n’ai pas vérifier les autres moyens de transport

Really amazing house and location. We didn't walk to the nearby onsen town, but it is walkable (a bit of a hill), and there are many walking trails around the house. This house has a fence for dogs but we didn't travel with pets and found it made a great yard for our kids to play. The onsen bath in the house is great and there is plenty of space.

Very tastefully furnished. Love the different kinds of plates and bowls. The kids are very happy with the Nintendo switch and Netflix on a big screen.

L’établissement フォレスタ阿蘇車帰 se trouve à Aso, à respectivement 24 km et 33 km de ces lieux d’intérêt : Stade Egao Kenkō et Château de Kumamoto. We spent two nights here as a couple. The staff greeted us kindly and were very accommodating and helpful. The property is beautiful and overlooks Mt.Aso. We decided to use the grill our first night and they set up everything for us and even recommended a store where we could go to buy meat and other supplies. (We forgot to buy grilling utensils, the staff let us borrow some :), but I would recommend bringing your own. The meat was delicious and it paired well with the atmosphere of the property. My husband and I don't speak Japanese really but the staff worked with us to communicate in Korean/English. We had the twin bed room and it was very nice. The beds were comfortable and the air conditioning made it very nice. The room had a bathtub and we took a bath both nights it was so relaxing. The whole cabin had a wonderful woody smell. After dinner we went outside and went star gazing. The night air was crisp and the sky was beautiful. Mosquitos were minimal and the night air was full of the sounds of the forest. We could even see the milky way! We also woke up early to watch the sunrise over Mount Aso right from the deck in front of our room. The view was breathtaking~ Overall I'd highly recommend staying here if you want to experience the Japanese countryside the right way!
