The 3-star ryokan features mountain views and is 20 km from Zenkoji Temple. The ryokan also offers free WiFi, free private parking and facilities for disabled guests. Everything. The house itself is an attraction. The wonderful host and the dinner is additional.

With free WiFi, this 1-star hostel offers a shared kitchen and a concierge service. Guests can make use of a bar. The room and the public spaces were always neat. The staff are pleasant and very accommodating. The general vibe was exceptional, including amongst other guests. I’m a solo female traveler and stayed in the mixed dormitory but I had 0 discomfort. The host runs several shuttles in the mornings to drop off patrons in the morning, so we can then take the town shuttle to get to different ski resorts etc, as well as evening shuttles to pick you up from town and take you back to the guesthouse.
