We visited silver hill Ecovillage for 2 nights to relax before driving back to Negombo and fly out of the country. It was a great idea for relaxation and organising ourselves. The place is truly the last house on the hill and it is peaceful and full of vegetation. There is a small pool with natural water which is nice to cool yourself down, I loved the hammocks in the kitchen area with the amazing view where I read my book. If you decided to go please pet Lassi, the cutest dog ever. She’s nice and playful and made us smile many times😀 Just a note about the road going there - be mindful that the road closer to the hotel is not paved and a bit rocky but we managed to cross it with our Tuktuk.

Clean modern rooms in beautiful surroundings with a lovely pool. This is the definition of a hidden gem. You simply must eat here in the evening, the food was the best we’ve had in Sri Lanka and generous portions. We saw a wine store as we drove in ( less than 5 mins drive for those interested), when we asked about available drinks the manager offered to drive and get what we wanted. Breakfast was lovely and they even bought a fridge to our room for us to use. There are sun beds and tables and chairs in the grounds so we spent the evening sitting out watching the sun go down over the paddy fields, simply beautiful. If you are looking for somewhere fabulous to stay between Negombo and Sigiria. Look no further. You won’t find better.

This experience was a much-needed detox for our minds as the peaceful environment made us forget the stresses of city living. First of all, the location was great. It is just right at the main road, but once you’ve reached your room you feel like you are in the jungle. The host did everything to make us feel at home. Chaminda even took us into the jungle for the full local experience. If you are lucky you can even spot wild elephants in the area!! Also don’t forget to visit the hut where a nice lady sells hoppers (aks for it to the host) Thank you so much for the stay❤️

I recently stayed at this lodge and had a truly wonderful experience. They offered both Sri Lankan and English food, and I must say, the taste and quality were absolutely excellent. Every meal felt carefully prepared and full of flavor. The hospitality was warm and genuine. @Mangala was very friendly, helpful, and always made sure we were comfortable. The atmosphere of the hotel was safe and peaceful, which made it a perfect place to relax and unwind. I highly recommend this lodge to anyone who enjoys a calm and quiet environment, with great service and delicious food in Kurunegala area. Would definitely come back!
