We were able to park our tuk tuk under CCTV which made us feel reassured. We booked all 3 rooms, and they were all incredible. The accommodation was extremely clean, and the rooms are all attached to a balcony with a view of the mountains and lots of birds. The rooms have hot water and REAL beds with REAL pillows and a duvet. No AC needed, the area is nice and cool. We took a tour of the family's rice fields and vetegable garden. The highlight of this accommodation is the food that the family prepares for you. We have been in Sri Lanka for almost a year, and this was by far the best food we have had! The breakfast is included and is huge and varied. They provide many different options including fruits, hoppers, juices, teas, coffees, dahl, sambol, pancakes, rotis, avocado and so much more! We decided to order dinner through the accommodation as well. Each dinner has about 10 different dishes and you are able to make requests if needed. We had all sorts of incredible food like jackfruit curry, fish curry, chicken curry, noodles, rice, eggs, papadom, and everything else you could think of! (And beers) All in all, our stay here was absolutely incredible and it was the highlight of our trip. We can highly recommend!!

Even our sweet host she arranged vehicle for site seeing n for Mirrisa too.Thanks a lot Shalika for each n every thing to make our stay comfortable.

It's a bit of a walk to and from the city centre but tuktuks are easy to get. Also breakfast was great.

It is located a 10 minute drive from the centre of Ella but you can walk to town in 30 minutes and you get incredible views along the way. Because of it's location the homestay is surrounded by beautiful jungle and tea fields and is incredibly peaceful, lovely to come back to after a busy Ella. The rooftop seating area is a lovely place to relax after a hike. Breakfast is incredible, the room is spotlessly clean with a huge comfortable bed and a lovely en suite. There are so many thoughtful amenities including a hair dryer. Absolutely wonderful stay!

Chotu (Gihan) has created a really good, relaxed, pleasant and comfortable environment. Home Hostel Ella is in a beautiful location surrounded by and lovely views. With the short cut it is easy to get away from the hassle…..oops the hustle and bustle of Ella. Chotu keeps a clean home and provides all one could need in a hostel. He is aware of the needs of vacationers and is happy to give guidance and help. The two toilets and two showers were clean and enough for the size of his hostel. The kitchen is well stocked and kept. Quiet at night which meant 3 good nights sleep. Definitely recommend.

The house was very comfortable, spacious and has everything required. The hosts were great, very friendly and kind and the breakfast was simply amazing, so tasty, fresh and plentiful (read: too much😉) Highly recommend!
