Surrounded by a park and the valley of the Venta River, the Boutique Hotel Virkas muiža occupies a historic German mansion in a very quiet location, a 20-minute walk from the famous waterfall and the centre of Kuldiga. Staff was very attentive and always ready to make our stay enjoyable and worry-free. Beginning with the receptionist who cheerfully greeted us upon entering and escorted us through the hotel to familiarize us with the hotel features and amenities and then led us to our room. A second receptionist warmly translated my parking citation (expensive 40€ lesson in parking sign interpretation) so that I could grudgingly but quickly pay the penalty online with a wire transfer from my US bank. The room was fantastic, large, well appointed, comfortable sofa, comfortable bed, coffee and tea, and well laid out bathroom. Loved it. The breakfast featured scrambled eggs, breakfast meats, various breads and pastries, fresh vegetables, cheeses, porridge, coffee and a wide choice of teas. Breakfast room staff was quickly clearing tables and keeping the buffet well stocked.

The hotel is located in an over 100-year-old renovated building, which is included in the Historical Heritage list of Latvia. In the interior of hotel you can see original stairs, paintings and maps of Liepaja from that time. Great location, abundant breakfast and very nice personnel.

The 5-star design Promenade Hotel enjoys a unique location on a canal, next to the yacht marina and the Liepaja’s Port. It features elegant rooms with air-conditioning and plasma TV. Wi-Fi and parking are free. everything was just as we expected. Very satisfied with location staff and accommodations. We loved the terrace.

Spacious, clean with two bedrooms.

The owner was exceptional in both service and communication. Location was about the best it could be. I hesitate on posting such a wonderful review as it may impede my future bookings. Lol

Providing free WiFi throughout the property, the non-smoking apartment features a sauna. This place is all about the sauna. The sauna is the real deal. Absolutely fantastic. The host leaves firewood and kindle ready in the oven, so it takes less than 1h to warm up. There's plenty of extra firewood as well. The room is generally good, yet simple (basic Ikea furniture all around). There is some instant coffee and tea and a kettle. The entrance is separate from the main house, so it feels private. Good for a single night or weekend stay. It's all about the sauna.
