Kapievi is a wonderful peaceful place with delicious food and quiet isolated rooms in a tropical setting.The pool is very welcome in the jungle heat. We had the inhouse vegetarian 3 course meal twice (different menu). The meals are beautifully presented, good portions and delicious. The staff were also very helpful arranging transport into the center of Puerto Maldonado. The location is on the outskirts of Puerto Maldonado so a taxi is necessary to and from. It's not walkable.

Its worth it. There is harldy anything bad we can mention.

A really lovely, peaceful place to stay, surrounded by the sounds of nature, with all the little whooping, scratching, hooting critters that abound. Nicholas, the host, was so helpful in sorting us out with various things, including day trips. It is quite a way from town so organise your food and drinks before you arrive, and don't be fooled by the distance on the map - the real distance is further as you bounce around swerving round potholes. Some taxis might not make the journey depending on the season. Here be dragons....

At the hostel, every room has a desk and a balcony with a river view. The units at Majacho`s House come with a private bathroom and bed linen. The stay at Rafa and his family was nothing short of amazing. Although there was somewhat of a language barrier it felt like a second family for a few days. The effort that Rafa made to make us feel at home, the love that he showed for the environment and the wonderful personal tours he provided. On top of that his wonderful mother made lovely meals and even made some delicious salsa for us while we left. Big bonus was their lovely dogs. 10/10 experience!

Mosquito nets for every bed was very helpful. Free water accessible, and the tours with Roger were fantastic, as well as the food cooked by Maria. (Just need to tell her in advance which meals you would like to eat at the accommodation)
