The experience itself is really cool, but you need to put on a lot of clothes because it is going to be cold. You will never forget the water bottle.

Boasting luggage storage space, this property also has a restaurant and an outdoor fireplace. The homestay has family rooms. We felt the hospitality of Richar's family from the moment we arrived on the island till we said our goodbyes at the dock. The room was very clean, overlooking the island slope. The facilities are basic but functional and are maintained excellently. There's also a terrace to enjoy the view from the outside. All meals provided, lunch, dinner, and breakfast were excellent and served in a nicely decorated dining room. Lunch and dinner were traditional choices of quinoa/corn soup and cheese + vegetables/pasta second course, all with local ingredients. The pancake breakfast was more of a Western style and filling for the day.. Everything is very quiet on the island, even the roosters were heard only from outside. We had a chance to observe daily island life, see people going about their chores while wearing traditional clothes, watch the sunset from the highest point, and learn a bit about local beliefs and traditions. We attended the evening fiesta that was arranged for tourists. However, it mimics all the features, such as music, clothes, and dances, of authentic island celebrations. Knowing some Spanish will significantly help enrich your island experience.

The hosts were amazing. They took me on a trip around the islands in the afternoon, much quieter than the busy touristy mornings. Amazing!

The property is 7 km from the city centre, and right in front of Titicaca lake. Eddy, his dad and mom Salome were incredibly sweet. If you're looking for an authentic stay on Lake Titicaca, look no further! They made us a generous dinner when we arrived, gave us hot water bottles to stay warm during the night (we were impressed by our room, great view and plenty of space), breakfast the next morning, and Eddy kindly took us for a little boat tour around the area before our Taquille excursion, and even showed us his new kittens!!! They also kept our luggage for us after we checked out, and both taxis from our bus in Puno to take us to the dock were very punctual.

A balcony with sea views is offered in each unit. Wow! What a charming stay! Henry and Mariluz were such accommodating and generous hosts. Henry carried our bags all the way from the ferry landing. Mariluz made such delicious home-cooked meals! The lodge had charming landscaping and stone work, and the hot shower was something we appreciated on the rustic island. What a delight, after a day of exploring, to sit on the lounge chairs outside, read a novel, sip on a glass of wine, and look out at the magnificent view. Plus it was fun to look at Mariluz's beautiful crochet work! Amantani Lodge gets a ten out of ten!

Rates at this all-inclusive property include breakfast, lunch and dinner. We loved it all, the people the place it was a wonderful experience. The room was warm and comfortable, very relaxing. Ceaser and Lucy have really worked hard making it such a lovely place with their lovely family, they look after their guests very well, from the very clean, bright, comfortable cosy rooms to the fresh cooking made by Lucy and local tours of their neighbourhood explaining so much of their way of life, which is very interesting. It's another world and very different, but we loved it and watcing the stunning beautiful sunsets every night from our cabin, Very relaxing! Thanks for having us both Ceaser & Lucy!
