We (a family with 2 kids at the age of 6 months / 4 years) had a wonderful stay at The Residence Douz. Amazing rooms, attentive and super child friendly staff. Breakfast was great and we felt very welcome in a positive environment, right next to the Sahara desert. The spa area is great. My best hotel experience in Tunisia so far, we even extended our stay. We were made to feel welcome from the minute we stepped onto the property. The hosts speak a number of languages and were a great source of knowledge and information. They were the friendliest hosts we had for our entire trip. We felt at home here straight away. Our room was simple but very spacious, clean and comfortable. There was a full-sized fridge plus enough pots and cutlery. There was a bedroom, an ensuite and a separate living area with the kitchen in it. The large pool was a huge bonus when it was so hot. All up it was great value. Thank you!

The owner of this place was the nicest most accommodating host in Tunisia. He quickly and easily helped us organise a camel tour in Douz at an amazing price. Breakfast was fresh and delicious too. The location is great, about a 10-15 minute walk from the town center. The owner also recommended a great restaurant in town. The room was simple and had everything we needed for a short stay. Our stay in Douz was one of the best parts of our Sahara Desert road trip. The apartment is in the heart of the town, making it easy to walk anywhere. The location was even better than we hoped. The apartment itself was large, clean, and had everything we needed. The beds were very comfortable, and the space felt open and welcoming. The host, Faoizi, was on another level. He was always ready to help and kept in touch with clear communication. One evening, we joined him at his café to watch the World Club Cup semifinal, which made us feel part of the community. The highlight of the stay was the 4x4 sunset jeep tour into the Sahara. It felt real and unique. We enjoyed Berber food cooked in the desert and over a cup of traditional tea while learning about local life. We arrived in Douz as guests but left feeling like friends.
