Although if you do not have a car, it may not be the hotel for you. I booked it cause of the good location and proximity to stores and restaurants and accessibility to Duke but since it is on a highway you cannot walk or cross without a vehicle. Even with that difficulty for me as someone who came via public transportation, I’d still book this next time I come to Duke due to its amazing amenities, service, and great ambiance! The cookies before bedtime was the cherry on top!

So glad I found this place and decided to stay here rather than in any of the bigger downtown hotels. I don’t think I have ever had a warmer, more welcoming reception at any hotel - Anna at the front desk was just wonderful, and everyone else that I encountered was super friendly, too. Loved the retro look, the lounge and patio are fantastic, great coffee in the morning, squeaky clean room with a very (!) comfortable bed. On top of that, the location is hard to beat, I could walk everywhere, felt entirely safe (a concern for women traveling solo), and even though the hotel sits off a busy three lane street, there were no noise issues whatsoever. Recommendations for breakfast places were spot on, too. Oh, and free parking on the premises, in downtown. The Longleaf will definitely be my first choice in Raleigh from now on!

Location was great, easy to get to airport and back. Lots of food and shopping close by. Very quiet and nice area to stay.

I stayed here for only 1 night for an event that was happening in the PNC Arena. The travel distance was short to it as well, it was only 11 minutes away. When I first walked in, the hotel took my breath away. Everything was super clean and the staff were very welcoming. The check in process was smooth and I had no problem getting in my room in a timely manner. The room was also very clean and exceeded my expectations. I had enough room for my son and my friend who traveled with me. We had the complimentary breakfast the next day and everything tasted amazing. I definitely enjoyed my stay here and I would love to come back again if I visit Raleigh again!
