Food was served at different locations for every meal, giving a unique sense of ambience all the time. The food was excellent as well and had a personal touch by the chef and his team at every meal.
The staff were extremely courteous and helpful, ready to help at any given time, with warm and welcoming smiles.

The place is absolutely gorgeous: wonderful swimming pool, a beautiful renovation for this mansion, the bedroom are spacious, comfortable and extremely clean.
The restaurant was also amazing: fresh juices and delicious Indian and Western cuisine.
In a nutshell, it was a perfect experience; once again thank you and we warmly recommend the Saratha Vilas!

In the middle of nowhere is this magnificeint Chettinadu Mansion with all luxury ammennities. We really loved our rooom with that hand fan, tub, King size bed, swimming pool and a grand breakfast.

Gives you an opportunity to stay in an authentic heritage house unlike other newly constructed ones. The staff go out of their way to explain items present in their museum. The fact they were able to have and maintain a swimming pool in the village even if it is a bit of a 5 mins walk is amazing. Washrooms were comfortable and specifically constructed for this though the steps could be avoided to support elderly guests.

Very comfortable room, nice location, in beatifull green garden. Lady at reception very helpfull in organizing our trips in surrounding area by taxi and transport to our next destination, Madurai. And I loved the swimmingpool, it's not in Chettinadu court, but nearby, 15 minutes walking. A must to survive the hottest hours of the day,

The Saratha Vilas are a fantastic place to stay in the Chettinad region - the mansion house has been renovated and upgraded with sensitivity to its heritage with impeccable quality of finishes and furnishings. The staff are remarkably responsive to every request & the restaurant meals are exceptional. The pool was a welcome respite from the heat & a pleasant way to meet other travelers.

Taking a taxi around several similar villages, tile making was fun to see.
Enjoyed the swimming pool...it's so hot in December!

The place looks good but for someone who expects actual chettinad type of stay it’s disappointing.The food which is supposed to be the best in chettinad is definitely not up to the mark.The swimming pool is not inside the campus and we have to walk to another street.
The staffs were courteous and helpful.

A comfortable Chettinadu mansion with awe inspiring decorative tiles on floors, walls and ceilings. Very charming and cozy place with modern conveniences. Tasty and standard South Indian breakfast buffet with two or three traditional Chettinadu breakfast items included. Very friendly and informative staff. Did not get a chance to use free bicycles and swimming pool. The bullock cart ride is comfortable and we enjoyed going around the village.
