What a magical place. The best hotel we stayed in Sri Lanka so far. The views and the infinity pool are on point. Special thanks to Isuru, who guide us in a short hike inside the property and explained to us about the different herbs and the uses for each and showed us pretty nice viewpoints in the area.

Our stay was absolutely incredible. The setting in Sri Lanka’s lush “foliage” is breathtaking, and the way the architecture blends into the landscape is not only beautiful but simply genius. We felt an overwhelming sense of peace from the moment we arrived. The Ayurvedic treatments and wellness programs were life-changing, and the team are so positive and treated us with so much kindness and thoughtfulness. The food was beyond amazing—every meal was filled with such flavour. Santani gave us everything we needed to truly sought to reconnect and release going into the new year. It’s a place that feels magical, and we can’t wait to come back.

Literally everything about the place is on spot, starting with the great location were you will realise later that every view your eyes will catch is a breathtaking.. all day every day!! Book this place when you wish to see many things in and around Kandy! The owners went the extra mile to make me super happy. He is a safe driver who showed me many places per day in his comfortable car and she cooked fantastic meals for me with fresh herbs and spices out of their own ‘jungle’. They are a lovely and honest family, the best hosts during my world-travel :-) Also: the place is a gem in the mountains, beautiful decorated and with a clean pool. I felt really at home here.

Beautiful property, in the middle of nature and the tea plantation. The room was super large, with ceiling fan and mosquito net. Terence and the rest of the staff were really the highlight of our stay. They took such good care of us and treated us with such kindness, bringing us tea and fresh juices throughout the day. We had breakfast, lunch and dinner there for two days (always different), and this was really the best food we had in Sri Lanka. We could also fill up our water bottles at all time, which was very appreciated. Magnificent furniture, all from the colonial times, though it could be a bit cleaner (cushions and fabrics of the different sofas). The swimming pool was the perfect addition, after walking around in the hot weather. Finally, our visit to the tea factory was very interesting: we learnt a lot and were so happy to be able to buy their tea at the end, for a very decent price.

Ashburnham has a charm and feels like stepping back to a bygone era of tea plantations. The setting is stunning and the climate pleasantly cool after coming up from Kandy. The staff (mostly Vish as 1 man front of house/waiter/barman/fixer) are super friendly and helpful. The food is excellent, especially the Sri Lankan “Rice and Curry” selection we had on 2nd night. The tea tour with the estate manager was really interesting and the stunning waterfall is well worth visiting.
