Absolutely loved this place. Choose it as first stop in Zanzibar after 5-days safari, and it could’t be more right. The rooms were super beautiful and comfortable, the shower was just great; the pool area super nice to swim, look at the sea and take great pictures!! There is access to the sea although not sand beach itself, but it was not any issue as we wanted to relax and were heading to sand beach some days later. The food was 5-star, OMG I will miss that fruit bowl for breakfast!! The staff was awesome, big thanks to Martin, Grayce, Chindy making awesome drinks and all the rest of the team. They took so good care of me with ginger tea since I had a cold while in my stay there!! Absolutely recommend this place!!

The property is located away from busy touristy areas, it’s a heaven for relaxation , super clean, ocean view, direct access to the beach (due to tides it is not suitable for swims but paddling is ok ) villas are spacious and in a lovely garden setting with a large pool and loungers The staff are very attentive they offer an exceptional top quality breakfast We also had dinner at the restaurant every night and the food was excellent The manager on duty when we were there , Nevena, was the best she was attentive, kind, made us feel welcome and special

What makes Palmera so special is its inspiring mission. The hotel and restaurant operate as a hospitality school for local young women, and the exceptional service they provide is a direct reflection of their training. From their warm smiles to their impeccable attention to detail, you can feel the genuine pride they take in their work. The hotel's setting is pure paradise. The infinity pool overlooking the turquoise sea is mesmerizing, and the lush, immaculately kept gardens create a perfect oasis for relaxation. It was wonderful to be able to walk barefoot through the fine sand and simply enjoy the tranquility. For anyone, but especially for vegans, the restaurant is a must-visit. The creative and delicious vegan dishes, all beautifully prepared and presented by the talented students, were a true highlight. It's a testament to the high-quality training they are receiving. The breakfast, in particular, was the best I had during my three-week stay in Tanzania, the homemade warm bread and homemade chocolate spread were unforgettable. For lunch and dinner, with main courses priced between $11 and $13, it offers exceptional value. This 15-room hotel is a quiet retreat. I stayed when it was almost empty and had no issues with noise, but even when full, the large garden and pool area should provide plenty of space for guests. The price range for double rooms in the 2025 high season was 70-100 USD. All rooms face the sea, though the view can be a bit limited from some of the downstairs rooms. While the large windows are beautiful, the curtains don’t fully cover them, which could be a privacy concern for some. I prefer a firm mattress, and the bed was perfect for me, but it might be a bit too hard for others. The solar-powered hot water worked flawlessly. The road to the hotel is a little bumpy on the last kilometer, but there are plans to improve it. In the bathrooms, I would have appreciated a bit more space to dry towels, or a drying rack on the terrace.

The location is beautiful - it’s the last hotel on the road, there was almost nobody at the beach, and the hotel itself is also really nice (small houses with decent amount of space and privacy) The staff is extremely friendly, special shoutout to Kassim that made the great experience - from serving exceptional food and drinks to fully organising and guiding additional tours in reasonable prices and with great fun. The location is absolutely stunning. Quiet. Peaceful. Rocky entrance( the Lodge has been sitting at the cliff, but the entrance to the ocean is sandy!) to the ocean gives it its boost. The sunsets are spectacular. All of the staff are just so friendly, lovely and always helpful. The accommodation has a the right touch of Africa and is clean. Food is top taste. Local dogs- especially Africa give to this place a special “home” feeling. Two monkeys jumping across the roofs are just the cherry on the cake. All of their trips are so valuable for money?! And their employees for the trips are the most lovely people as well. We did dolphin trip, snorkeling and Safari blue with Abdul and it was just perfect. He is so friendly, responsible, helpful and friendly. Thank you to all employees including the owner.
