The manor house is absolutely beautiful, and it was obvious that no costs were spared in the design of the interior. Rooms are very spacious and well-appointed with most rooms featuring luxurious ensuite bathrooms. There are many different seating areas throughout the house that can be closed off to spend time in privacy. The indoor BBQ (braai) area is spacious and has a huge floor to ceiling glass sliding door that opens up to the large lawn with swimming pool. It was great to spend the early morning on the covered, wind-sheltered veranda (stoep), looking over the adjacent vineyards. The kind domestic staff were very discreet and unobtrusive and made the beds and cleaned the kitchen without us even knowing they were there. Very close to Stellenbosch and Franschhoek and the range of tourist facilities in the area. I would highly recommend a stay at Mount Vernon Manor and predict that once this "newcomer" is discovered it would become increasingly difficult to find availability at such an exceptional property.

We got the two bedroom cottage - it’s like having your own house. All the complimentary tours the hotel offers are amazing. The staff is so friendly and helpful. The food is insane, fresh, delicious. There are three pools, incredible walks, chickens roaming around. Every day at 5 pm someone knocks on your door to offer you an amuse bouche and in the morning they re-stock your fresh fruit in the room from the orchard. We even had two days of rain and we had the best time.

    The location was perfect as we were attending a family wedding at a nearby winery. The two bedroom apartment we had was lovely and very spacious. My room was separate to that of my parents' suite but right next door. A lovely setting with ponds, trees, vineyard and guava orchard. Simon at the gate was most friendly and attentive. The pool was nice but we didn't swim as the weather was not warm.

    We loved everything about this property! From the drive into the big security gate to the privacy of the unit. The view overlooking the dam, with breathtaking sunsets over the mountains, the heated jacuzzi / pool. Even the view from our bed. The fit and finish of the unit is gorgeous. Photo's of the unit does not do this place justice. The owner, Pieter, went above and beyond for us and made us feel right at home. This is the place to stay if you want to be in nature. We'll stay here again in a heart beat.

    we. had a lovely stay at Dawn Mountain. Owners were wonderful and made sure the hot tub was ready to go. cottage is situated on a little lake and it's peaceful and beautiful. The grounds at Dawn Mountain were bursting with blooms. We enjoyed our stay very much. Having a smart TV so we could relax and watch a movie one night was a real plus too.

    Everything about our stay. Surrounded by nature/ a dam with fish literally jumping out of it. The bird life. The hot tub. The braai facilities were top notch. Safe parking. The quiet. The bonus of 3 beautiful dogs coming to greet us and watching the swim in the dam. The whole place was pristine - both inside and out. The wifi and Netflix were added bonuses. The fact that we weren't impacted by loadshedding. Literally, everything was superb.
