Absolutely loved our stay! The place was spotless, and the view was unbeatable. Having breakfast in the room was such a treat! The staff were super lovely and incredibly helpful. We really appreciated being able to leave our bags before check-in and finding them already in the room when we arrived. A fantastic experience all around!

Cool and clean property with a very nice host and cute rooms. You can find parking near the property at P1. It’s a 2-minute walk away. You get a better price for parking because you are a hotel guest. When you arrive, the hotel host lets you park behind the hotel first, to unload your luggage and then you can move your car to the designated parking areas. It was very good, the breakfast was ok. It was not as rich as other hotel breakfasts, but it was ok.

Perfect view! My eyes were cleaned. And my mind was healed as well... There are no negative aspects I should experience, and the staff was so kind. The Rooms are enough to be in for 2 people, and the bathroom(toilet) is also huge. The surrounding areas of the hotel are mostly nature-kind. The Hallstatt Lake is just one minute away from the hotel, and the view was stunning. I strongly recommend this hotel.

Everything was fantastic in all senses - the hotel was located in a very charming village and the room was extremely clean and well arranged, beautifully furnished and decorated, with amazing views of the Alps and town. No noise or any kind of disturbance whatsover, it is a very quiet a calm place. Besides, the breakfast was really good. The owners are the kindest, most respectful and helpful I have ever met.

    The hotel was so charming and they had an excellent breakfast. The room had a balcony with a stunning view of the lake and mountains. The staff allowed us to store our luggage until our train that was later in the day after checkout.

    We stayed in the lake view room on the second floor. The room is modern and comfortable. I was surprised that it is bigger than in the picture. The view from the room is spectacular, and is the highlight of our Hallstatt trip.

    We had a surprise that the funicular shut down the day we arrived. We didn't make it up the mountain for the attractions we planned to see. The Visitors bureau were not that helpful. They were very vague and we felt like we had to figure things out on our own. Kind of strange. We made the most of it and settled in for a couple days, strolling the lake road and stopping at different lakefront restaurants and cafe's

    We travelled with 3 different trains from Vienna to...

    We travelled with 3 different trains from Vienna to Obertraun in order to visit Hallstat. Unfortunately, the transportation wasn't very convenient for us. One of the trains that we had arranged was late and we had to wait two more hours in order to get the last train to Obertraun. We departed from Vienna at 8:00 and we arrived to Obertraun at 15:30! Obertraun was very close to Hallstat. Hallstat is a magical place but next time I would prefer to visit it by car.

    Mesmerizing views all around and one can spend quality time over here. Very well connected with public transport and can move easily to any tourist attractions. Surrounded by natural beauty, away from tourist crowd and very scenic.

    Being surrounded by mountains and walking trails. I think Gosau is known for skiing in the winter but we were there in mid September and the weather was perfect for walking along the river and lakes. Cool but sunny

    We went towards end of September which was still quite busy. I would avoid the peak Summer months if you don’t like crowds. Stunning town very picturesque. We had 2 nights which was just enough time to explore the town on foot as the Cable car and salt mines not operating in September as end of season. Great home cooked meal at good value for money at the Restaurant pictured below. Austrians prefer to be paid in Cash especially the taxi drivers

    Stay in beautiful Obertraun instead of the overpriced and crowded Hallstatt! We stayed 3 nights in a lovely accommodation Haus Edelweiss, and following the recommendations of lovely host Nina, we spent one day walking from Obertruan to Hallstatt. Along the way, we saw this stone path going up the hill and we went up (very do-able hike), and it led to a very beautiful view of Hallstatt! We then went down the other way and continued walking towards Hallstatt, explored the beautiful village and took the ferry (Euro 12/pax) back to Obertruan. Next day, we walked a loop from Obertruan to Koppenwinlsee. The walk was very lovely and we saw tiny red strawberries everywhere! There was a restaurant after Koppenwinslee but I think it was closed on Mon-Wed (please check), and other days open for lunch & dinner, so time yourself to make it in time for lunch/dinner. We were stopping so often to admire the scenery that we missed their lunch time! It is better to visit during non-summer to enjoy Austria.

    The accommodation had great view and the balcony was so Cousy, I could sit whole evening there to spend some quality time. The location is beautiful and relaxing. My kids enjoyed lot. Special thanks to providing such a variety of toys and activity stuff for kids, they really got occupied with activities while at apartment.

    Gosau had everything we needed for a wonderful, relaxing...

    Gosau had everything we needed for a wonderful, relaxing holiday - a grocery store, multiple restaurants, beautiful views, friendly people, and many trails for hiking, biking, and walking. Additionally, Gosausee is only a short drive away. We didn't leave Gosau during our entire stay, as there were plenty of things to do, including just relaxing.

    We stayed a bit less than 24 hours, may have liked a few more hours, but not a lot more. It was a wonderful intermediary between Vienna and Salzburg. It was nice to be there around the times that the buses weren’t. We rode in on the train, ferry to the town and ferry back to the train.
