The owners are absolutely helpful and attentive. You feel right at home. The hotel is decorated in a beautiful French country house style, exactly as seen in the photos. This property was on the main square and we received a very warm welcome by the staff in the restaurant area. The property allowed us an early check in also which we were very happy about. The room was very large, much more spacious than we expected and the design was very luxurious. The bed was also very big & comfortable. For breakfast they offered a cold selection and also hot cooked eggs, bacon etc. We really enjoyed our stay!

We chose this place as a base location to travel around by motorcycles, 30 mins from mons, 30 from Valenciennes and some absolutely gorgeous hidden gems so easily accessible. We didn’t eat at the restaurant due to husbands complex dietary requirements but the room and breakfast was fantastic. The breakfast was set out each morning by a lovely lady who always checked we had everything we needed and cleaned our room each day.

    A brilliant hotel in central Maubeuge. A 5 minutes walk from the train station, with free parking for hotel guests. The rooms are nice with very comfortable beds. Great showers in the bathrooms, really nice. The windows offer nice views over the town and the choice to upgrade rooms is brilliant. Very polite and friendly staff, helpful and nice. I did not try the restaurant below the hotel, but it looks fantastic and was busy with local people eating there every night, so definitely going to try that next time.

    My lover and I really enjoyed this hotel because it has a kitchen so we could cook together. It was a lovely time and the hotel was very clean, everything was perfect and the receptionist gave us very good advice and guidance. My lover and I were impressed and there was a garden that looked comfortable and was also pet-friendly. We will definitely come back to stay here again 🫶🏻

    The B&B hotel is in a very central location. A few minutes walk to the Grand Place where you can find a beautiful square surrounded with cafe,s bars & restaurants. On the doorstep you can find a sandwich shop a takeaway a full sized supermarket & a corner shop. Just a few paces away is a launderette.

    It was a really cute guesthouse. Has a shared living room, kitchen, separate toilet downstairs. All the "bedrooms" have a full bathroom with it. Mathew was super nice, very helpful and gave us info on nearby restaurants, bakery's etc. Definitely will come to see him again when we are in the area!

    I loved my stay there, receptionists were very friendly and accommodating. The room was pretty, spacious and the bed was comfortable. The room was equipped with a huge TV, and I appreciated the coffee, cappuccino and tea left for me every day.

    A very decent destination for a weekend in its own right, it...

    A very decent destination for a weekend in its own right, it can also serve as a base for things like battlefield exploration (Waterloo, the WW1 Western Front, some of Marlborough's campaigns). If you choose to make it a base for car trips, remember to set your SatNav to "avoid motorways" - it's beautiful countryside if you stick to the smaller roads. I detected no 'edge' to the place at all, no bad behaviour, no vagrants or beggars. This matters since it's a lovely place to explore entirely on foot. The people were, without exception, friendly and helpful. The food is excellent, as is the beer, but this is Belgium after all.

    Perfect location for visiting Pairi Daiza. Kids are tired after long day in zoo, so then it is convenient if you have a location close by. City center of Ath looks also nice for a stroll, but we did not do this because we had not enough time left for this

    Nice small country town with new industrial facilities kept out of town. Nice farming country landscapes. Highways nearby (N7, E429). Multiple great and casual eating facilities and new grocerystore nearby. Fifteen min. to Paira Daiza (largest zoo in all of Europe), 45 min. from Brussels and airport, 25 min. to Tournai/Doornik.

    Friendly receptionist - gave us a connecting cable to charge mobile overnight without any problem. However, some plugs did not work and even did not work after a day. Music could be heard until late from the fitness studio next door.

    The animal park is astonishing, the best one I have ever been to, absolutely worth the visit even without kids. Especially in spring when everything is blooming. The fauna goes without saying but also the plants and flowers are wonderful as well as the architecture, taken to the perfection. And the steam train! 15 out of 10 for me!

    Lovely hotel, good modern restaurant with very good food, good well kept grounds, plenty carpark spaces with cctv. Excellent service for breakfast & evening meal. The rooms at the top floor were adequate & clean. Lots of stairs to get up there and when carrying luggage can be daunting.

    We've been to Mons twice and both times it seemed a bit '...

    We've been to Mons twice and both times it seemed a bit 'grey'. If you're from the UK, the potholes in the roads will make you feel at home. The best bits are the Lago swimming pool with brilliant slides and a whirlpool which kids absolutely love. Just make sure you're wearing the regulation swimming gear. No baggy shorts allowed. We had to buy new ones last year and used them again on this trip. The most moving aspect which we came to see previously and visited again this time was the site of the first day of WW1 and the memorial to Maurice Dease and Sidney Godley VCs under the Nimy railway bridge. The final resting place of Lt Dease is the St Symphorien Military Cemetery, just outside of Mons. The central square in Mons is the place to go for dining out. Rather strangely, we ate at a sushi restaurant, which was pretty good.

    The decoration is outstanding.

    The decoration is outstanding. You feel like being on a beautiful yacht or at the sea side. There was a very warm welcome by the host and the breakfast was exceptional. The hotel is 100% clean in each corner. The fridge has lot of beverage that you can take without cost. I have visited the three rooms of the hotel and they are all beautiful. This will be a very long lasting souvenir. We will come back there for sure !!!

    It's not a big town, but a lot has happened in Mons over the centuries, especially the last 150 years. We didn't find a lot of well-presented tourist interest but we found it easy to explore on foot. Away from the Grand Place, it quickly becomes parochial; there is renovation going on but it all feels as if it's driven and funded locally.
