It's a great place to visit for a chill vaycay. Aside from the unique setting there are less points if interest than expected. The palace and it's gardens was great and huge, you should set aside an entire day for it if you plan to see it. The beach was okey, the main one is on the smaller side, it's in a janky area aswell but it was not overcrowded. There was also an odd tiny beach but we didn't go there. It seemed terrible to be honest. A road between the sand and the water and a strip of rock and gravel between the road and water. Have transport if you are staying further into the town. The best hotel is the Ibiza Hotel. To have dinner I recommend Mozzarella pizza restaurant, Uno Restaurant. You should visit Staria Dobrich and try Gevrek. Kavarna is a little town, if you like big really crowded places maybe this one is not for you. Plenty of places and things to do in the area, lovely beaches and natural beauty. Nice bars and restaurants in the center of the town, food and value for the money is perfect. Kranevo is a lovely place, you can park at the beach so, if you have mobility issues you can still get into the sea. Restaurants on the beach are clean and very good value for money. There are different (paid) activities that can be done - tennis, football, mini golf, swimming, bikes, carts and many more. It also has a fair selection of different hotels suited for different types of people and what they are looking for. Shabla is a hidden gem on the Black Sea! 🌊 If you want peace, nature, and a truly relaxing break, this is the perfect place. The beach is wide and never crowded, the old lighthouse is beautiful to see, and the nearby lakes are amazing for birdwatching and walks. We have been in Balchik many times and we come back always with pleasure. This place is quiet, uncrowded and offers excellent conditions for relax and stay. Usually, we stay at Maria Palace, a very nice and elegant place. Many times, we have the lunch or dinner at La Terrassa restaurant just in front of the hotel, on the beach. A seaside town with the focus on the beach. Unfortunately the beach is quite stony and small so packed with people at this time of year (August) People are friendly, there is a pedestrian area at the top of the hill and a small town. The area is a little run down but it is very pleasant with its own specific history. Also well placed for a visit to Balchik nearby. If you are staying by the beach in Kavarna we would recommend a car.
