- From $365.20 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 7.8Good - What previous guests thought, 166 reviewsOur stay at Thamalakane was an opportunity to acclimatise before a 12 day self drive through the Moremi and Chobe national parks. I was blown away by how beautiful the lodge would be, the lovely gardens and trees provide a haven and a little cooling micro climate in the dry season that attracts and provides a home for an abundance of birds and small wildlife on the Thamalakane River. It was such a pleasure to be able to sit and have coffee in the mornings and watch the birds flit down to the gently trickling ponds adjacent to the main dining area and then get to do it again with a cooling G&T in the late afternoon whilst watching the hippo in the river. The staff at Thamalakane are all absolutely wonderful and are by far the heart and soul of the lodge. They were increadibly attentive, accomodating and kind. Aaron, Godfrey, T4, Patricia, Debbie and all the other wonderful staff who's names I dont remember and wish I did, including the chef for accomodating us by making phaleche and the staff that maintained the lovely rooms and premises and the gardeners for their tending of the absolutely wonderful gardens, you have my sincerest thanks. And then there was Kelly, you are an absolute credit to the lodge my friend and cant thank you enough for being so attentive, caring and going that extra mile, I only wish we had been able to say good bye.Guest review byBrendonAustralia
- From $77.94 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.3Very Good - What previous guests thought, 94 reviewsThe hotel looks well taken care of and neat and clean. The rooms are well furnished and the bathroom was fine. It has a bar/restaurant were we ate several times and food was always plentiful and good. It's well organized and the staff is the most friendly and helpful at all times. Whenever we had a question or request they would find a solution and help immediately. We got extra service from the shuttle as it was rather far from the shops, it was given to us for free.Guest review byHubertinaThailand

We did not stay for long, but for stocking up the twon a good amount of shops and chain stores you may also know from South Africa. Unfortunately, the croc farms seems to have closed down, the local game park was closed for rehabilitation, and the museum was closed for the weekend.Guest review byBuk - 4.0

Comfortable cabins with nice location and great potential if you want to be out of Maun but need to make sure if food is available and to pay on arrival to avoid problems with payment as staff not present on site earlyGuest review byJessicaSouth Africa - 6.0

We were disappointed, we were under the impression that we could drive around in the area and on the premises, but you have to book for game drives. The water hole is on the side for the tented camp visitors, the people camping does not really have access. The camping is a good stop over for one night, but a longer stay will is not recommended.Guest review byHengeleneSouth Africa - 8.0

For tourists going into the delta I recommend at least a day in Maun to check out the local sights and meet some of the locals. Botswana and Maun in particular see tourists come in and go straight out to the delta, so no added benefit to the residents just a constant flow of people leaving nothing of benefit to the local community Stop over in a local hotel, there are plenty to suit every ones finances, interact with the local community there is lots to do and seeGuest review byAnonymous - 2.0

When you see distance to town center for hotels in Maun, don't be deceived like I was. Town center is a ratty 4 way stop, nothing you want to be too close to. There are a few places in Maun that may be OK but you have to do your research and they are spread out.Guest review bybschranzUnited States
