- From US$138.91 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.1Superb - What previous guests thought, 48 reviewsHere’s a polished and engaging travel review for Banana Bank Lodge: A True Gem of Hospitality and Community My stay at Banana Bank Lodge was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed with warmth and genuine care. The staff couldn’t do enough for me—attentive, kind, and always ready to assist. Their dedication to guest satisfaction truly sets this place apart. What makes Banana Bank Lodge extraordinary isn’t just its breathtaking surroundings or the comfort it offers, but the passion and heart that go into every aspect of it. The owner is a true gentleman, going above and beyond to share the incredible history of the lodge and the meaningful work he and his wife have dedicated themselves to. This is far more than just a lodge or farm; it’s a living testament to their deep-rooted commitment to the land, the people, and the culture. Their philosophy is evident in every detail—from their respect for nature to their efforts in uplifting the local community. They don’t just run a business; they are actively making a positive impact wherever possible. It’s a shining example of how tourism can be a force for good, blending sustainability, hospitality, and cultural enrichment. Thank you, Banana Bank Lodge, for an unforgettable experience. I left not just with wonderful memories but with deep admiration for what you stand for. If you’re looking for a stay that’s more than just a vacation—a place that truly touches the heart—this is it. Highly recommended! Micheal 🇮🇪Guest review byMichealIreland
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.5Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 130 reviewsVanilla Hills Lodge is the type of place you would like to get stranded. Quiet, beautiful, well run. I feel like I could write a book about how much we liked this place, but in the interest of brevity, I'll keep it short and sweet. Claudia and her staff should be so proud of the multi-faceted experience they offer to their guests. We had pleasant and numerous interactions with her, and staff members Carina, Mark and Robin, and every time we were left with a smile on our faces. Our treehouse (Coconut) was perfect in every way, so private, so cozy, so comfortable. The outdoor shower is wonderful. We ate two breakfasts and two dinners in the restaurant, everything was delicious with great attention to detail. The pool (which never closes) was a fantastic way to either start or finish our days. Resident cats Tom and Jerry ("the true owners" according to Claudia) were lovely. There are abundant birds and other animals that either visit or live on the property. My fondest wish is that we will be able to visit again.Guest review byGrantCanada
- From US$159.09 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.5Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 64 reviewsThe staff were fantastic. Evan was brilliant, extremely professional, friendly, and welcoming. He was able to tell us lots about the area and we had some great conversations. Daisy the chef, cooked up the most wonderful meals for us. We can honestly say it was the tastiest food we have had since arriving in Belize! Swimming and floating around on tyres in the Creek was wonderful and refreshing. The outdoor chess set was also enjoyed. Our cabana was well equipped and very comfortable. It was clean and beautifully presented. Listening to the sounds of the outdoors all night was beautiful and we awoke to the sound of the monkeys. The whole experience was fantastic.Guest review byangelaUnited Kingdom
- From US$113.05 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 7.9Good - What previous guests thought, 438 reviewsThe location on top of the hill meant that the views during the day and at night were quite beautiful. The restaurant food for breakfast, lunch and dinner was very good - tasty, well presented and quite good value. There is also the option of the hotel next door for an evening meal. The hotel is only a very short walk to the impressive Cahel Pech Archeoligical site where you can easily spend 2 hours exploring. Being on top of the hill it required a VERY steep hike back up after checking out the town centre. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend.Guest review byMoragAustralia
- From US$260.61 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.6Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 169 reviewsOne of the most amazing places I’ve ever stayed in the entire world. We loved the property and all of the amenities were incredible! Free kayaks and bicycles and hiking trails to lookouts and hanging bridges. The list goes on and on, it was my wife’s favorite hotel that she’s ever stayed in and that says a lot because we travel more than 50% of the year.Guest review byAricUnited States
- From US$117.81 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.7Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 110 reviewsThe sunset view was spectacular, the main pool was great, excellent for swimming laps. The second pool was half empty, perhaps for insurance reasons as it was unattended. Landscaping was incredible. The room was excellent, the bathroom is amazing, and the A/C worked great. The staff are very professional, friendly, and helpful.Guest review byOuelletteCanada

The coffee, Garlic Tea and Ginger tea very good. Chena, the owner, sorry if I misspelled her name is so personable, she baked a chocolate cake for my birthday and made it Vegan so one of my daughters could eat it. It was yummy!Guest review byPaulaUnited States
- From US$77.70 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 7.4Good - What previous guests thought, 325 reviewsLocation was great, right on the main street. There are supermarkets, restaurants, tour companies around. We were concerned that it might be noisy at night as the hotel is right in the centre of town. The noise levels didn't bother us and was not an issue for us.Guest review byGowriCanada

Such a cute little town to use as you adventure base.
Such a cute little town to use as you adventure base. There are so many different activities and stores that it’s impossible to see and do everything in even a week. Everyone in town is so friendly and I never felt unsafe, even during the late night block party I stumbled on. Watch out for the casino though. They do not like it if you win anything, and they will make sure to finagle the money back. For us it was the ribbon “security” band on the US tender— after we won a few hundred dollars and then started loosing, they made sure to bring to our attention they “couldn’t take the only hundreds we had left” because of the ribbon, even though they prefer and want you to pay in US Dollars to begin with. They made sure this happened only after our winnings were down so that we left in the negative. Other than the casino, which I highly recommend you avoid, this is such a quaint cute little Hispanic town with the friendliest people.Guest review byClayUnited States - 8.0

Stayed for 6 nights total: 2 in San Ignacio, 1 at Rainforest Inn on Butterfly Highway, and 3 at the beach in Hopkins. The Rainforest was awesome and we did some cave exploring on tours. My husband and I enjoyed the cave tube float and our friends loved the ATM cave. Of course there are a number of Mayan ruins to explore without having to cross into Guatemala. Belize is a small country but from the Cays to Belmopan city and beach areas the culture is varied. The Garifuna culture around Hopkins is quite interesting and different from San Ignacio, which is more Mayan.Guest review byBarbaraUnited States - 8.0

The lodge is in the perfect place to do a variety of jungle adventure tours and activities, especially all the caves and sinkholes in the area, and to explore the Mayan ruins, and to get a real feel for the culture of Belize.Guest review byKellyUnited States - 8.0

San Ignacio has enough for one to two days of activities for a typical tourist. The Mayan Temple complexes are the main attraction (the one in San Ignacio is easy to reach but less interesting than the others a bit further away). The Iguana conservation project and chocolate making demonstration are worthwhile if you have time. The drive from the airport is not scenic, but it's simple to navigate.Guest review byRichardUnited States - 10.0

I specifically went to see the Thirsty Jagwar (yummy fruit wines) booth at the Day & Night Market at Mae Gordon Park in Belmopan. It was a rainy day and the grounds were a bit wet and muddy, but there was a good variety of friendly vendors, so it was fun to shop around. They also had a good DJ and live music so it was entertaining as well. There was also a good variety of food vendors to choose from. The highlight of my visit was my stay at the Kiki Witz Resort. It was only 5 minutes drive outside Belmopan. Easy to find right off the highway just past the ArtBox store, but GPS was off. I had the cutest little Glamping Cabin in the woods! I will definetly come back, stay there and do little excursions out from there.Guest review byLindaCanada
