Rooms are quite comfortable, with some antique furniture that is meant to refer to the castle next door. It is located in a small park where it is nice to have a short walk. The neighbourhood is also quite picturesque, with all necessary shops and restaurants a few minutes away. The parking is right next to the hotel, very convenient and inexpensive. Basel is a wonderful city to explore, and I highly recommend discovering it on foot – the architecture is beautiful and everything is within easy reach. Public transport is excellent: the buses are always on time and very clean. Just make sure to carry some cash with you, as card payments (POS) are not available on buses. A walk along the Rhine riverfront is a must, offering a relaxing and scenic experience.
